Good price for Evo
Good price for Evo
I am currently searching for an Evo to buy on this forum as well as locally. I am not too sure about pricing just yet. I did find a local Evo on craigslist and was wondering if there were any thoughts on it based on the price. Also what questions should I be asking the owner?

Thanks for any input.

'03 Evo with 100K+ miles around $13K.questions needs to be asked:when the last time timing belt was changed, who tuned your car.stories like car never been launched or always been in stock form is fat lie.good luck.

If they claim to have a "built trans" or anything major like that ask for a receipt. Something that major should be documented, and if it wasn't it just shows that the owner was not that meticulous with it.
Good luck getting the "right" price on here.
Your going to have the members who see a Evo IX with 50k for $26 listed in the FS section here and they will leave comments like " DONT DROP DOWN A PENNY! WORTH EVERY CENT!"

i paid 13.5k with bolts-ons and some sort of tune. a good tune for now. really regret it...been spending petty money on little fixes here and there. thats what i get for being cheap. =[ i still love my car!
Good to know. I'm on the fence as to whether I want to spend the extra and get something pristine, or if I'd rather save thousands up front and spend a little more throughout the first few months of ownership fixing a couple little things here and there...
Your going to spend the money regardless. All the things I've been replacing or fixing I was going to do anyway, but this way is forcing me to get it where I want rather then wait and wait. I'd say just get a pristine condition for more money.
Lol, says the car dealer who buys cars on here to flip.
Keep in mind that banks go by the middle NADA value for loans if you aren't paying cash. That screwed me when I sold my Evo as there was a $5000+ difference between the NADA value and the KBB excellent private. No one could get qualified for what I was asking.
