No evo yet, but in the process

Hello guys and gals! As the title states, I do not own an Evo, QQ.. However, I am currently saving for one so by this time next year I will have one. Little about me, my name is Wayne, the name "skandiluz" came from online games I played because I was always an assassin. -Scandalous, get it?- Lol. So, I currently own a 2006 Civic Si (lightly modded) which will be paid off at the end of next month. I thought about boosting it at one point but I decided against it. Some will ask "Why not boost the Si?" or "Why an Evo?". Simple enough. When I get my Evo, I'll be giving my Si to my brothers because their car probably won't last too much longer (it's a 2004 grand am that was in not so great condition when it was given to me years ago). Why an Evo? Because, it's an Evo lol. I was a Wrx/Sti guy for the longest time because of the boxer engine (sound, not modding it. It's such a pain). As I've done more research, I figured, "I would pay nearly $8k for a WRX, $17k for an STi, but I could get an Evo for $14??" No brainer. My plan is to buy an Evo 8 or Evo 9 so when that time does come, there will be lots o' pics. :3

For $14k, unless you get a smoking deal, it's going to be a much higher-mileage example. Evo IXs will be out of the question at that price range, unless it has a salvage title. So what do you do that enables you to afford an Evo by next year when you're still making payments a 2006 Civic Si today?

Good luck with your search though.

$14k is roughly the evo 8 prices I've been looking at. Haven't priced evo 9's but I would imagine they aren't too far off. $20k, possibly. My Si will be paid off next month. I would be saving $1k+ every month after my normal bills. That along with income tax will put me in the ballpark of an Evo 8 for sure. Evo 9? Probably not, but if I keep saving while looking for an 8, eventually I'll have the funds for a 9. See what I mean now?
