New here, in need of advise.

Hello My name is kyle, I'm form Portland,Oregon, and I need some help lol. Three years ago I traded my 93 fd for a RR evo 8 with 79,000 miles,Fast forward,I now have 89,000 miles on the evo and i'm planning on doing a road trip to Huntington beach,California from Portland,Oregon. My question is, is having almost 90,000 miles on my 2003 evo 8 too much?

Modifications:
-Exedy twin plate (250 miles on it)
-Manual boost controller
-hks turbo back exhaust
-new HPS+rotors and pads.
Thanks, KP.

I just drove 5 hours to Vegas in my 05' that has 111k on the clock. No problems at all, not even one of those moments where you think you hear something or smell something off and start ****ting bricks.

Yeah. 90K miles is too much for an Evo. You should let me keep it for a while!

i am just confused at this.

If you have maintained the car, you should be able to go from the west coast to east coast and anywhere in between.

If the car is tuned to the ragged edge then i would change it.

if you have not done fluids, or spark plugs lately then you may want to do those.

Is having that many miles a hazard when driving 2,000+ miles. Thanks for the advise everyone.

Also ,while driving and in first while off the throttle car makes a strange sound?Almost like a whining? Is this the transfer case?

1st gear in the Evo is straight cut so it's kinda loud (like a reverse gear).
Just check your oil/coolant levels and funky tire wears. You'll be fine.

If there are no immediate issues as of now and your car runs good you should be fine. But, I do hope you have taken good care of your car. I would do the normal checks on the car just as you would any car before a trip. Maybe change the oil and plugs. Be sure to bring tools too. You never know when you might have to do roadside temp fixes. Also, the loud whine in 1st gear I believe is normal.

I had a 2003 OZ Rally edition. Mine blew at 160k. Keep up with the maintenance and it will last a good long time. Don't forget the timing belt.

Everyone has a different perspective/opinion on what you would consider "High Mileage" if you feel like its too high and will cause problems dont drive it to Cali! Just my opinion...
