Interior work please help
Interior work please help
I'm new to the forums and just got a 02 Lancer ES. I heard these cars could be pimped out on the real so I picked one up after my wife totaled my eclipse. I already have got the shorty antenna, changed exterior bulbs to hypers and whotnot, and ordered a OZ rally spoiler. Now, I wanna do some stuff to the interior. Any suggestions? Please help and please be serious. Everyone else I posted were either too busy joking around or other things. Thanks in advance. JT
id paint some pieces, easy/cheap and if done right looks real nice, i got the ES with the ugly gray interior....pained some pieces dark blue metallic...easy process
take out the pieces....sand em with 400grit, primer 2-3 coats(let dry 10-15 mins between coats), sand again IF needed, apply 3-4 paint coats(drying 12-15 mins) after last coat of paint, let dry 1-1.5 hours, than apply clear/top coat, 3-4 coats of that as well drying 10-15 mins between coats.
i did my center armrest cover...and i lean on it etc and it hasn't cracked yet after 3 weeks, so its holding up well...i did the kickpanels down by where the pedals are and i hit that and my foot rubs on it all the time...looks great still...also did the piece around the stereo/hvac knobs and it looks amazing
up next im gonna do the dark gray part on the doors and the top of dash, than some of the door pieces, than the black trim piece along the dash, than its an OZ Gauge cluster and paint the bezel as well
than im done
also...guages always spice up the interior..right nwo i only got an air/fuel guage...but will be geting a exhaust gas temp gauge, boost gauge(if i turbo this summer anyways) and an oil pressure gauge i think. than thats it for gauges.
thers my 2 cents. good luck!

hey, noticed your comment about not knowing how to do interior bulb swaps. pretty easy, just do searches on the forums for "removing centre console" "red clock mod" and "changing stock radio color". or similar searches. you should pull up lots of info on how to do it.
my profile has pics of all my interior and exterior lighting mods. pm me if you have any questions after reading all the threads. best of luck!

thanks guys. i know this is going to sound real cheesy, but you all are some the nicest people on forums to help people. Everyone else wants to be smartasses. I guess there is no one who makes white face gauges for our lancers.
Try doing a search - im sure there has to be someone who would/is making a guage for our car, and if u can find one, please post i would be seriously interested in one too that would look hella phat with the white face
