Buying an EVO 8 soon!

Hey guys! My name is Jake.
I'm a used car tech and have been professionally working on cars for 7 years.
A few past cars have been:
1GB DSM 16G powered 350awhp(same screen name on dsmtuners)
05 RX-8
08 A4 2.0t AWD

I'm selling my A4 this weekend to pickup an 05 Evo. it's wicked white in color.

Needs a few things I need to diagnose: why all three acd lights are popping on. A clunk from the front left, front rotors(probably just machine them), and why the a/c Is inop and proper catch can routing.
Stay tuned for when I bring my evo back to life and upload some pictures!

Excited to be back in a Mitsu vehicle!

Welcome Jake!

Congrats on your upcoming purchase! I love wicked white and almost purchased one but ended up with an Apex Silver Evo 8. Post up some pics when you pic her up!

Regarding your ACD lights, read up on this thread...it is not the 'go to' acd light thread but it has some informative posts in there that can lead you in the right direction...to sum it up you need to check the acd reservoir level, may have to bleed the system again due to air in the line, loose battery terminal, etc..... Keep in mind I do NOT have an evo with ACD but looked this up for you and read up on it many times in the past.

ALL 3 ACD Lights ON

Here is a great thread on the Evos HVAC issues...this thread helped me FIX my AC issue for free. My problem turned out to be the air gap on my compressor was out of spec causing the compressor not to engage/turn on. The fix was to remove (in some cases to add) the oem washer located on the clutch end of the compressor ( I think I explained it correctly ). A simple 10 minute fix for me.... :-)

Thanks for the info guys!

It's a 05 with 99k.
Has upgraded intercooler piping, exhaust, intake, mbc, lowered on springs, led tail lights and I'm sure I'm forgetting more.
The car had all its major services done already and is on its 3rd owner.

Hopefully I'll pick it up soon!

Sounds like that evo is beat. Only pick it up if you get it for cheap. Because it looks like it needs some expensive work done!

?

Acd pump rebuild IF it needs it - $150
Strut mount $25
catch can setup- I can build mine for about $100-150
A/C recharge - refrigerant is like $12 and O-rings which commonly leak are free.
Rotors - free, I'll machine them.

Cost = $287-337.
Purchase price - $12,700

I've flipped multiple cars and the most I've ever put into one is about $1400(including the cost of the car) and sold for $1700 making a $300 profit, so that's cheap to me!

The dude I'm buying it from isn't shady at all, we've talked extensively about the car and it's history which makes a world of difference buying it from some jag-off.
Anyway picking the car up this Thursday!
