Been eyeballing this 2008 evo X for a while now, and even went to test drive it. Car ran like a champ, super clean, decent miles for 2008, but I walked away after we couldn't negotiate a price. They've since dropped the price $1,000, and am certainly planning to buy it monday... maybe....

I'm just now realizing their Carsoup ad says it has the Sight, Sound, and Spoiler package (I vaguely remember the sales person also mentioning this) but I don't remember seeing the "Rockford Fosgate" logo on the dash by the CD deck, nor do i remember seeing a giant subwoofer in the trunk...

From the Carsoup photos (or any other details for that matter) could someone tell if the car actually has the Sight, Sound and Spoiler package?

Is it possible to find out the options the car was manufactured with by using the VIN somehow? Mayhaps call the manufacturer?

Thoughts, comments, questions, concerns are all welcomed.

No HID headlights, so no sight. It should also say rockford fosgate by the radio and of course have the sub in the trunk. HERE is the link to the original equipment list for that car's VIN. I don't see those options on the list. Also, you can just change the VIN on that link to check out other cars you are researching if you want to verify the installed options.

Yeah - the only way to get the HIDs was with the SSS package in 2008 (that's the reason that I went with it). If it doesn't have them, than it didn't have that package (or they were swapped out... but I don't know why someone would do that). Not sure that the high spoiler was available w/o the SSS package in 2008 either... but that is an easy swap later. The sub isn't giant, but it'll be on the drivers side of the trunk.

Just out of curiousity, how many miles and how much are they asking?

 

It was 45502 miles, and their price was $23,998

Between NADA, and Edmunds, this car was about $2,000 over priced. KBB (of course) priced it at like $25,500...

I ended up going with a 2013 with 12500 miles on it, and brand new tires for $30,998. They gave me $1000 for my trade in (started at $500, but they were willing to negotiate it up to $1000) when the last dealership with the 2008 made it sound like paying $500 for my trade-in was going to kill them...

 

Did you get the SSS package with the2013?
