Evo reliability

I am finally about to pull a trigger on a evo I looked at
It makes 730awhp on e85 at 43 psi
Car is extremely clean and adult owned
Should I be worried about this car exploding in a month
People who have high hp evos please comment

High hp evos are definitely not reliable and dont believe anyone that says so. They can be made "reliable" in the 5-600hp or less range.

Honestly, and I am not trying to be snotty, if you are asking those sorts of general questions, you ought to do some research here and be prepared to ask the seller a lot of very specific questions before pulling the trigger.

And no, you will not have a reliable 800 hp, no matter how many questions you ask. The only thing research and questions will get you is a less deep money pit.

Forty-three psi??? damn, WOT must feel nuts but I can't imagine that helping reliability....

Have you test driven it? The clutch might be tough to handle for a daily driver (if that's what you do with it)

You wanna purchase a heavily modified car, and you are worried about reliability and it blowing up? Is there a catch here?

Heavily modified car & reliability doesn't go in same category, as others stated 500-600 horsepower or less has some sort of reliability & power would be insane. You can't go wrong, if your still interested in the car can always drop the boost down for some reliability...

I def am interested in the car
I have had highly modified cars before
I am just curious are the engines pretty stout with that kinda boost will I have to re build it every couple of months
And how is the drivetrain with that kinda power do they hold up pretty well
As the car will not be a daily driver

Is drivetrain upgraded at all? It would have to be serviced alot more regularly & always maintained, evo motors are tough in general. End of the day its hard to say the condition of the motor, get it compression test, leak test, etc. It will give you an idea...

Decide what the goal is for you

-Weekend/daily
-If something were to blow up could you fix it and afford it
-What is stock on it that should be replaced due to the power
- How long do I plan on keeping the car

Yes the drivetrain is built
Motor is built with Manley I beam rods etc
the gentleman he to change the lifters and rockers a lifter went bad
as theu need the most maintenance
I would not have a problem changing the diff and tranny fluid along with the motor oil every 1500 to 2000

lol

....no. If you want a reliable 800hp, you're going to want a few more cylinders and throw in some litres while your at it.

It's been built for track useage so it's been driven hard. You're getting the price of a 800hp evo that's already hitting mid 9's at about 150+ MPH. What ever you do, just don't dig yourself in a grave. Professional driver only.

Keep the psi 90% of the time below 20. On paper you have 730whp evo. The car will always be reliable, its the owner who isn't reliable to their car.
