fresh rice!

howdy yall. just picked up an 06 evo 9 gsr. my first evo. 5 speed car, 24k original miles. let me say that again. TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND MILES. bought from a buddy who kept in his garage and never drove it. i spent the last 1.5 years with an 02 bugeye wagon with 05/07 sti drivetrain [aifrilter to lugnuts was all sti.. stripped to shell, sti harness, all mechanicals]. awesome little buggy but the evo just steers and handles like no awd car has a right to. i love it.

it's in pretty close to museum-grade condition. 100% stock save ast's and camber plates. ohlins r+t's are on order. i'll be doing some mild/basic upgrades to uncork the car a bit but leave it as oem feeling as possible. thinking o2 housing, exhaust, ic plumbing, turbo intake pipe.. tune [works is up the road in sonoma]. and that's about it. want to keep it conservative. i will track it and want ti smooth and reliable. not trying to win the track day and give zero fcks about what the dyno sheets say. it's all about how the car *feels*. the car is amazing stock and i don't want to lose that.. just dial it up a couple clicks.

already did a track day at thunderhill in norcal [i instruct for a couple of local groups, and race lemons, reasonably competent driver], car ran awesome. so fun to drive, all the reviews i've ever read were true. i'm stoked to have one of the cars i always wanted..

check out the hitch mount i had a buddy fabricate. came out awesome and let's me take the bikes. i really don't like roof racks. the 1-up is so slick. i'm a pretty big bike geek - the car is mostly used for weekend bike trips and track days. i live/ work in the city and never drive it otherwise. if anyone wants one he could reproduce it. you can't even see it under the car [it's finish painted hammerite black]. ill also pick up a cargo tray to take track wheels w/ me, vs putting them in the car.

car did come with a ton of parts, many i wont be using. i can't yet post in the classifieds, so thought i'd throw it out here if any are interested.

also, i would really love to get some MR HID headlights for it. anyone wants to trade for a nice fmic? =)

- NIB rexspeed 3 gauge cluster. sticky tape to the top of the dash. 45 shipped
- NIB ETS fmic. stock battery version, black ano 3.5" core. looks like with options it's 1100-1200$. looking for 900 shipped obo.

Great find... Let us know when you will be heading out to the track again. Already some great events planned this year on NCRC.

Thanks guys. Grazzo - I'm planning to do a laguna day with speedsf here in jan in a week or so.

Car is coming along. Had WORKS do a complete fluid flush [all oem with Torque brake fluid] and baseline dyno [they'd never had a 100% stock evo9 on the dyno]. Will probably do some basic bolt on's and a tune through them [throttle body, o2 and full exhaust]. Car made 240 at the wheels, with 280 ish wheel would be a ton more fun. And shouldn't sacrifice anything as far as drivability, mpg, etc. The stock tune runs very rich and isn't all that smooth.

Congratulations! Car is beautiful! That's the fastest color! Look forward to your updates! I have a bunch of WORKS parts on my car, you can't go wrong with ANYTHING they sell. Best of luck!

Sorry. Yellow Lightning is the fastest color. This one is not bad though!
