Help Needed!!
Hey guys, EVO 8 is my first turbo car, so bare with me
:
Perhaps one of the major performance upgrades for a n/a car is to install new gears. But a turbo charged car might be different. Once again, I don't know much about turbo charged cars. (I can't even locate the turbo)
. I'm looking to spend around two grand to boost up my EVO anywhere from 300-330hp. Downpipe and exhuast are no-brainer. I don't really want to mess around with the boost with a controller. Need some input and advice on how to well-spent two grand on engine performance upgrade. Is it possible to boost an Evo up to 330hp with just bolts on?
Any input or comment are welcomed.

Check out Works P2 or other type of ECU reflash. P2 will keep your boost at 19.5 psi till redline unlike stock where it will taper off to 16 psi after 5k.
Are you in San Francisco? If so drop by at Stonestown next to the theatre if you see a blue Evo.

I’d say if you are looking for bolt-on’s, the best way to start is move to a full 3” turbo back exhaust, including a high flow cat.
After that you should consider some sort of ECU enhancement; piggyback SAFC, standalone ECU, or re-flash of some sort. This car runs way too rich. Where you go from there is up to you.
BTW, the turbo is hidden under your exhaust manifold – under that black heat-shield behind your radiator. You can see it if you peek under there with a flashlight. The dark side is the turbine and the bright side is the compressor which is connected via rubber tubing to your air filter box.
