New Guy From CT
Hey all.
Been in the 4G63 game for awhile, and rounding out the journey with the ownership of an Evo. I've had em all - Talons, Eclipses, Lasers, Mirages, Mighty Max's... But no Evo's!
Well, this year has been a very difficult one to say the least. On Christmas Eve (I wish I could say I was making this up) I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Later on, the doctor told me I was diagnosed at stage 4. He was surprised that I was still alive. That spooked me big time. After spending 12 weeks on chemotherapy, and going through 8 surgeries and multiple other procedures, and spending all but about 2 weeks of summer in the hospital, I decided it was time to round out my 4G63 pilgrimage, so to speak.
I've been searching for some time now for a clean, close to stock, adult owned Evo. Just recently, I found the car that's going to work for me. Apex silver, SSL package, has a Shepherd transmission, transfer case, and rear differential, exhaust, HKS 272's, ARP head studs, and an Evo 9 turbo. The car is a few states away in Maine, ironically, only 10 minutes drive from where one of my friends lives, who moved up to Maine not long ago.
I was nervous being that the car was from Maine... I know how bad the rust gets. Luckily, the 15 or so pictures I got sent back indicated that it definitely didn't spend it's life there. A little surface rust on some of the fasteners but nothing substantial.
So the gears are turning, and I hope to join the Evo gang very soon! Thanks for reading my story - cheers all
