I have been daily driving my IX since May 2006. Absolutely nothing wrong with it as a DD.

It depends how much you would daily. Being in LA, that might be 100 miles in a day, so it might be fatiguing, and would put a lot of miles on the car. And with the mileage come 3000 mile oil changes, transmission/diff fluid changes, clutch wear, etc.

As far as dailying an EvO, not my cup of tea as its just my weekender. I just think the EvO has reached a point in its life span that it should be treated as a project & not a means of common transportation

People complaining that their Evo can't be used as a DD, didn't really want an Evo in the first place.
I've had my Evo 7 for 15 years and never would I contemplate having it as a garage queen, or even a weekend warrior. I do use a pickup for work, but that's because iron dust from heavy manufacturing ruins everything it comes into contact with.

Anything can be used as a daily doesn't mean it should. Its just a horrible choice from everything that's out there. Simply not a well built daily. Its a well built track/rally machine. Anyone who uses it as a daily id argue is just wasting its potential putting boring miles on it. Thats when it was new 20+ years ago. Now you'd have to be damn near stupid to daily these cars. Parts are getting much harder to source, things like fuel economy, safety and reliability (please don't say the evo is reliable when stock) should be at the top of the list. Owners who truly appreciate and understand the car wont want to daily it. They will however take it out for frequent spirited drives, events and track days. Thats the lifestyle of 90 percent of them these days and for good reason.
