I just recently purchased a 2005 Evo 8 with 160k miles. seems to run and drive fine but as this is my first Evo I'm looking for any tips from more knowledgeable people on what I need to look into and what to look out for. anything would be appreciated. as far as I know, nothing has been done to the engine performance wise, I will be pulling the valve covers to inspect the top end. it has apparently been pro tuned on a dyno for 91 octane and I have a graph of the dyno, but unfortunately the previous owner had no information on the company who tuned it or anything else. all I was given is a dyno sheet and an explanation that made very little sense. it does have something called a Zeitronics boost/wideband, turbo is stock, has an aftermarket air intake and the intercooler looks to be aftermarket as well. exhaust is a tomei catback system. I am fairly new to anything turbo charged or performance and I would love any advice or information. I will be doing services to all fluids and doing a thorough inspection to the engine bay and undercarriage at the shop I work for. thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum! Any pics of the engine bay? How many miles are on the car? The intercooler looks stock actually with the OEM tube and fin design. It's not as efficient as the bar and plate design but a lot lighter. These cars typically have ignition switch issues and the gas cap cover clip typically breaks as the car ages. Overall, they are very reliable when left stock/"stockish". This forum has a wealth of information! Use the search button a lot and soak it up! Again welcome to the community/cult!!
I mean that's a pretty wide open question.... off the bat that Dyno looks pretty rough considering smoothing is 5.... even if it were smoothing 0 its concerning to me. Personally from my 21 years experience the best advice I would give you is find a tuner/builder who has a lot of experience with Evo's and is highly rated. Take the car there have them do a boost leak test, look over EVERYTHING, do a full service changing all the fluids (including dropping the oil pan to see what that says) fresh plugs etc, then if possiable do a fresh tune because there is no way that tune is right thats on there or there are issues causing that dyno to be so up and down across the power band. TSComptuned (Tom - out of PA) who work on this car like my tuner/builder I see stories all the time (I was one of those stories) of things there lets say had a lot of corners cut or in expierenced people working and tuning the car. Do your self a favor start a thread asking whos the best tuner/builder near UT (I drive 2.5hrs to see mine becuase hes the ****) and go start there. Also look at local Facebook groups which I've found to be less then the best option since you have no idea who you are talking to but on here you can see how long people have been on here and read their other posts to get an idea of if they know their stuff.
*Thinking about it more...add doing a engine compression test, hooking up gauges when its on the dyno checking oil pressure, fuel pressure, and making sure the alternator has no issues*
Yea, that engine bay picture shows basically what ViciousLSD said.
Looks like a stock diverter valve, stock intercooler, stock intercooler piping with some dress up bits like the heat shield, radiator cooling plate and a painted valve cover.
The zetronics item you mentioned is just a gauge setup to monitor boost and AFR so that's definitely good to have.
And I'll second what Evo11V said, I'd get the tune looked at somewhere reputable. They should be able to give you some additional info on other things that might have been changed as well as clean it up a bit. That graph is pretty bumpy.
