Enquiry

Hi everyone, I'm new here and just an enquiry for the expert who is so used to driving Evo here....

As I had just brought an Evo V and I had difficulty in driving it esp the clutch portion.. My engine often stalled when I was about to moved off from a uphill slope... It has something to do with my half clutch.. but I found that the Evo clutch is really hard to catch.. I had no problem with my previous car and for only this Evo.. Either the car started to shake heavily or the engine will stalled. I asked my mechanic and he told me that Evo used racing clutch and I had to try to find the point where the half clutch is and I could find it but on uphill slope when i tried to used the half clutch the engine will surely stalled... how???

Is there anyway that i can get through this problem?? Please help.. Thanks a lot......... or anyone know anything about racing clucth. maybe you could give me some pointers...

I don't own an EVO but I recommend that you slowly apply more gas to compensate for the soft clutch. this way the car will not stall on you when balancing on a hill.

If you have a twin plate clutch (based on the description you provided) that used on the RS model, you will have to develop a much more precise clutch release technique. This is due to the twin plate clutch characteristic of engaging much firmer as compared to regular clutch and that will lead to a harder to find point of engagement.

Like others have said, practice makes perfect. Good luck on you EVO

What do you mean by apply more gas??? Is it applying more pressure on the accelerator??
