do u actually drive a evo or a lancer oz ? i didnt think the lancer oz came with turbos ( i could be verry wrong ) but you should beable to do a fuel management with pritty much any thing.. and i just looked on mitsu's website and the oz doesnt come with a turbo so no turbo timer or boost guage is needed

you have a Natural Asperated ( sorry if i spelt wrong ) car wich means it just sucks in what ever air it can get and its not forced in like it would be with a turbo or super charger.. hope this helps ya out.

with intake and exhaust you should probably start looking at boost controllers and some sort of fuel management for your next two mods. Intake and exhaust have consistantly made boost rise 1-2psi on the evo. It will also run richer with exhaust on top of the pig rich setting from the factory. To make good power and keep these safe you need fuel management. Or you could consider a custom flash by whomever you so choose which could take the place of boost control and fuel control. But you will definately need something before cams. You need a boost gauge if you don't already have that too.

Although in your first post you said:

Anyway, the additional electronics are not mandatory, but they complement the hardware you've added. What you really need with those mods is some sort of ECU tuning, which is done by a professional. The Evo responds pretty well to bolt-on mods like you mentioned, but their full potential is far from reached without tuning. Tuning in this case refers to either a reflashed stock ECU or some sort of additional tuned equipment, like Vishnu sells. Forget all of the arguing on this board about which is better, and find a tuner who you can actually talk to in person and who has your best interest in mind. I'd advise you also to find other Evos in your area and meet up with them in person to see what they've done and what they've been happy with (or not).

sure. i'm not as familiar with the reflashes because i chose a different route but the xflash will take the place of an air/fuel controller. i'm not sure if vishnu's flash has the boost capability. i know dynoflash can do that with his, along with remove fuel cut, and other things. it doesn't matter what you choose, it's just personal preference, but you will definately need SOME SORT of fuel tuning and ignition timing adjustment.

xflash is cheaper but you cannot switch settings as easily as you can with xede. if vishnu is the tuner you want, call shiv and talk to him about what he recommends. It depends on how far you want to go with your car as to what would be the best choice right now.

All the hardware in the world is just that, Hardware...... You need to tell the ecu what to do with it.

Consider Dyno flash or Vishnu's Xflash, or if you are going to continue your mods and want to "tweek" out as much whp as posible go with a piggyback ecu like Xcede or Utec. (stand alones are a great option but require mega hours of mega tuning)

You need to sort out your air fuel for sure as its most likely running very rich, IMO don't eventhink about doing cams untill you at least get an A/F controller and boost controller. or reflash combo.

FYI after I installed my UTEC I did a base dyno pull on just the base maps, then finetuned just the air/fuel ratios and gained 38 whp and 32 #torque across the whole range. That was on stock boost and very very conservative timing. (Lets see cams alone do that)

I think you will find a good "tune" will do far more than just slaping on expensive hardware .
