Ok, justy joined, and did as much reading as possible...
So, can someone set it straight?...
Installing the AEM EMS... will I ever get a CEL again? Will certain features be non-usable? Will the EMS be dectable from mitsu service? Will I pass PA Emissions? With the 3.5 Bar MAP sensor install, can I EVER go back to the factory ECU? And how? can I leave the MAF on and rig it with a "plug" when needed? so i can just plug in if i go back to factory ecu. I know all the bad *** features, but, what are the major downsides to the AEM EMS? Current Mods now is: AEM intake, Helix "3 Downpipe, Espelir Cat-Back and Greddy Type S BOV.

Installing the AEM EMS... will I ever get a CEL again? NO
Will certain features be non-usable? NO
Will the EMS be dectable from mitsu service? YES
Will I pass PA Emissions? DEPENDS
With the 3.5 Bar MAP sensor install, can I EVER go back to the factory ECU? YES And how? need to put the maf back.
can I leave the MAF on and rig it with a "plug" when needed? YES.
so i can just plug in if i go back to factory ecu. YES.
You have a datalogger that gives much better information (if the technician is skilled) than an OBD-II code will.
PA Emissions: (in Centre county)
Gas cap pressure test
Visual oversight
Technically you could fail a PA state inspection with an aftermarket cat, unless you have a slip to show from Mitsubishi. And they aren't going to give you a slip for a aftermarket cat, because your factory catalytic convertor has a free replacement warranty.
It really depends who is going to do your test. Find a friend who may let things like an aftermarket catalytic convertor pass. You may even find a technician who may not know the difference between a factory catalytic convertor.
My family happens to be in the Auto business, so I'm not to worried.

I have try to plug a datalogger (OBD2) to the OBD2 port and try to sniff data off EMS. The datalogger can't get any obd2 code from EMS. I'm using Alterra software.
So if your state do try to hook up to the OBD2 port and scan for data, it will not work. So far, I know NJ emission need OBD hookup. Not sure about PA. In MA, no obd scan need for emission.

The EMS comes configured (default) to trip the check engine light as the shift light. If you go the shift light options in the EMS you can change the output (so you can trip a real shift light) and you can change at what RPM's it will go off.
The only plug that needs modification is the factory pressure differential sensor that is located on the passanger side of the manifold. The AEM map sensor gets wired into that harness. If you really don't want to mess with the factory wiring you'd have to remove the pins on the harness and run your own wires to the map sensor. Almost forgot, you have to wire in the AIT sensor also. (no big deal, two wires).
Don't worry about switching back to the factory ecu, it's quick and easy.

the ems WILL NOT pass emmisions. it clearly states that it is for use on off road vehicles only.
its easy though... put the stock ecu back in along w/the maf and injectors... go get an inspection..... done
