In a very humid environment the water spray will do nothing. In a hot but very dry environment, it can make a huge difference, up to a 30 degree temperature drop...

well, Mine is always spraying in Atlanta. I fill it up and put it on auto, 3 days later, the whole tank is empty...

I should really fill it up with ice mixed with Nitrogen cubes.

i thought that if you left it on auto it would spray every 3 or 4 seconds until the tank ran out... i guess not though since everyone says that's not right. I guess I ought to turn it on auto when I drive just for the extra safety.

I fill mine with windshield fluid (it won't freeze) and I think the alcohol has a cooler effect.

Anyone think of using the I/C switch for a nitrous fogger system?

I use it primarily when autocrossing after each run. When I hit IC sprayer, I could see a small amount of steam come up through the hood vent when the radiator fans were running.

yeah well it gets really really hot and humid here in south carolina so it can't hurt to use it. I did think it was interesting though that it won't be on the 05's.

I recently took my 'Stang to the Texas Mile down in Goliad. While I was there, I talked to a couple of guys with Subies (one was an STi, the other was a WRX wagon built up to STi performance specs) The wagon guy brought a bunch of dry ice and had it laying on top of his iintercooler, and the STi guy relied on his squirter until the middle of the second day. (Wagon Guy said he hardly ever used his squirter) I forget how much of a difference it made when STi went to dry ice, but he made at least a second and a half better times, and I think 3 mph gain. So, I guess keeping your cooler cooler (hehe) makes a huge difference, but the squirter is just squirting in the wind, so to speak.

The only difference I notice is on my oil temp gauge, oil temp runs about a needle-width lower when its on auto ...
