Buying a used "03" EVO Questions.
Hello All,
I found a great deal on a 03 EVO. It "looks" in great shape. Except for tires, a couple dings. It says it has 4500 miles. But with the way some of it looks I am concerned he has messed with the Odometer. Is there a way now a days to "unhook" the odometer? Is it contained in the ECU. Or is it seperate. I know nothing about the new ECU's. Is it maybe a seperate ecu like a friend of mine said some cars are now. What should I check out to see if this has happened?
Thanks,
EVOhead

I'm not sure if this is true, but I've heard of some people swapping out guage faces and as a result their mileage gets reset. Anyone know if this is true? It seems like it should be a bit more difficult to reset the mileage of a car...

do a carfax, maybe you can see some DMV records to prove for or against his milage..... but if its just a few dings and worn tires, why is 4500 miles unreasonable? then again if someone can wear out the advans in 4500 miles, i would assume he truely beat on his evo.. i would NOT buy it...
