Putting gas when engin still runs??

I put gas at 76 gas station and didn't turn off the car, so my car was still on. what

happened was...the gas pump stopped like when the gas tank is all filled up, but it

was only half tank filled...well after that I couldn't feel the turbo power, and the

engin sound was kinda different from what i usually hear. I reved up almost to

redline like when i race, but couln'd feel much power. my question is does this have

anything to do with puuting gas while the enging is still running?

I have freind. supra owner, he never turned off his car when he put gas. and his car

was fine.....Help`~^_^

from what ive heard on any car, your not suppose to put gas in it while its running, always turn your engine off. Hope everything goes ok.

No, it won't hurt your car. They post that so they can eliminate the .00000245987% chance you might blow yourself up.

Not sure but, most new cars have sensors that read for vacuum in tank for evap system. Taking the cap off while engine is running will cause a mil if long enough and will make it run like crap until it relearns.
Good luck, BMan

Yeah, I used to work at a Chevy dealer and we had a couple Crapaliers come in with the same thing. The running should clear up on its own, but you'll still have the code stored in the computer until you take it in to clear it. That shouldn't affect anything, but just remember it's there if you take it in for service later.
