Basically if you bought your EVO before May 2004 you have a standard EVO 8. The EVO RS, however, just recently came out. The difference is the RS has no spolier, alot of weight saving features, and no power anything(windows, door locks, etc). The EVO MR comes out in 2005.

If you have manual windows you have an RS. If you have 6 speeds then you have an MR. If not either, then you have a regular EVO.

Don't know if it's the same for the US, but the RS has black door handles and is only available in white, whereas the GSR has body coloured. Here, the RS does have a spoiler, but the interior is basic (non-recaro seats)...no electrics, no ACD, S-AYC...and also has 15" steel rims

I'm sure they'll stick some sticker on the back or something, since it's hard to tell the difference from MR to Regular... well besides the gunmetal paint.

well the GSR is the base spec Japanese car, and as I understnad, the American car is altered from this, so I'm not sure if it can be called the GSR

The rs here can be red or white... and black handles/side mirrors. You can add A/C and stuff -- The "Urban Jungle" package. I think the MR (out in the Fall) will be available in a darker, graphite-type gray, which I wish I had!

In the US, the "regular" Evo has no ACD or AYC....

the MR is also availabel in Red, White and Silver....however the UK evo VIII isn't available in blue, and you (the US) have an VIII which is, so you may have more MR colours.
