I asked the dealer about fitting my new 04 with a smaller spoiler on the back and he said that nothing he had would line up with the holes already on the trunk. How true is that?

aftermarket... I'm sure he's right.

 

If you already have the large carbon fibre wing on, then the hole patterns are very different to the lower profile spoiler.

Also, the lower profile spoiler needs re-wireing as the third brake light is in the spoiler and not in the rear screen as with the wing.

 

I'm sure the '04 trunks aren't different from the '03, so....

1) '03 or older OZ spoiler will fit on a EVO trunk. You'll have to drill the center post holes. Actually, there are many threads stating the older Lancers and EVO's share the same trunk lid.

2) Look underneath your trunk lid, and you'll see the a harness for a 3rd spoiler mounted brake light.

 

What color is your car? I have the short spoiler with the third brake light built into it and swapped out for a Carbon Fiber wing. If interested let me know.

 

On my '03 I replaced the tall CF wing with a low profile. All I needed to do was drill the center hole in the stock trunk lid. All other holes were in the right place and there is a wire harness already there. Just plug it in.

The 04 Ralliart spoiler dosn't have the funky center post and looks like it will fit.
Asked the dealer for cost but they never bothered to call back.
Anybody know the price?
Would really like a low profile carbon fiber spoiler. Or maybe a modest M5 type lip spoiler.
Not to mention a speedometer that I can actually read while driving.
Silver car in case there's an extra spoiler out there.

BMAN, could you post some pics of your new low wing??? Im waiting for the parts to come in for mine.. and I spoke with another dealer and they said the holes dont match?? Are they idiots? or are you not sure how your new wing was mounted? CJ

 

I have a template with the hole pattern on the CF spoiler. If you print and line up to the holes on another spoiler you can tell if they match or not. let me know if you want it, I would have to email it to you with instructions so it prints at the right scale; I used it to install my spoiler on my cf trunk, but of course I am not responsible for use and outcome.
And by experience...Evo and 02 Lancer share the same trunk lid.
