Question is, does anyone have the ***** to just enjoy driving the car without any fancy stereo system? The sound of the engine with turbo spooling, in combination with BOV and a deep exhaust is sweeter than any sound system out there. But, thats just me. I take my coffee black..

rockD, I totally agree. BTW, does anyone happen to know what the model is on the stock infinity speakers? (reference, kappa, etc.) I am just curious.

Thats the nice thing about electronics you can turn them on and off. Everyone who gets an EVO loves the sound of the engine but hell ya gatta have good sound system too. Need something powerful enough to hear over the sound of that spooling engine and exhaust when you want to. If you want to hear the motor there is always the off button or did you not get that far in the insturction manual on your last deck?

The factory head unit pretty much sucks IMO. The rear speakers have a decent amount of midbass, but sound kinda muddy. If you get a better head unit (Alpine ) and a good component set up front (MB Quart or Diamond Audio), you'll be happy. Or just get a nice catback...that would sound better than most music these days anyway.
