I've heard from a friend that race gas contains lead which will mess your car up. I know many of you put it with no problem but wondering.

Uh no. Diesels still pretty different. Last i checked, leaded gas will mess up a CAT, but its not that bar for the car. Just horrible for the environment.

From: its not where you at, its where you from!
I run 101 unleaded in my EVO VIII atleast once a month. My car 1,000 times better with higher octance. My car idles rough sometimes with 91...I run a full tank once every other week, then mixed 91 and 101 octane once a week...seems smoother in acceration as well! Leaded, yeah...HELL NO!!

Leaded gas is great stuff if you dont have a cat. You can make a good amount of power on c16 or 110. The only negitive affect it COULD have is messing up your o2 sensor. However, our shop car sees quite a bit of leaded gas, and its o2 sensor is still perfectly fine after 35k miles.

In summary, leaded gas is fine, and actualy your friend....as long as you dont have a cat.
