hey guys got a question

just gota quick qeustion. i jsut recently bought an evo and i relized that when using the breaks there is a loud screechy noise. anyone know what is causing this and how i can get it fixed ?

thanks its a noob question

it's normal once in awhile. Now if it's all the time then you should have it checked.

make sure they took out your spring blocks... a dealer in mississippi forgot to do this and right now the evo is at our dealer with a blown transmission and various other broken drivetrain related components... the car had 1600 miles on it...

Check the rotors for grooves.. could be a rock.. otherwise like bluebanna said..

I had some loud squeeking that never quit.. ended up being cracked front pads.

thanks for the info guys. is there any way i can check to see if they remnoved the spring blocks?

if you have a lift you can see easily.. jack up the car a bit and check the upper portion of the springs...

i went to the dealer two days after i bought mine in portland to finish some paperwork stuff. there was a kid there in a silver one with the same problem, they were looking into it. i never had anything than normal brand new car noise for the first week or so.

I had the same problem recently, and just rode it out. No problems since. After you've had the car for a while this is typically an indication that the brakes need to be changed. If the problem persists take it back to the dealer and have them look at it.
