Question EVO Ride

I've heard EVO's are pretty rough around the edges, especially in normal day to day driving, is this true? Also, does the EVO do well in high speed cruising, or is the gearing set up in a way that it can only really go up to maybe 120 mph? I've read on the forum that at 4k RPM in 5th you're only going 90... So I've been wondering that.

Originally, the evo was a rally car so yeah if you want a comfy ride, better stick to a luxury car. As far as speed, it will easily do 150+....you forget how much turbo spooling=speed.

Alright, awesome. My search for an EVO has gotten closer to finally getting one. There are a few I'm looking at, so hopefully by September I'll be the PROUD owner of one!

i daily drive the hell out of mine. sure the ride is stiff, but you get a good feel of everything. it isnt bad at all, except when i go bombing down a potched road quickly, and then it is only my wife that complains. by rough around the edges i can assume you mean hard to drive. it takes more effort to drive than anything i have ever driven. i was really taken back by the steering. it is quick. so quick that it requires full commitment. no cell phone, adjusting the radio, or looking for cds. all the things that make it "rough around the edges" make it the perfect drivers car. if you dont want rough around the edges, then buy a accord. lol. good luck

I'm really jumping at the bit to get mine. I'm hoping and praying daily that it'll come together ASAP hehe. I'm really excited about it though, this is gonna be one hell of a ride!

Rush hour stop and go type traffic is pretty brutal in the EVO. If you're crusing on the highway or between traffic lights it's not bad.

I'm glad I don't drive it every day, I would have gotten many speeding tickets ( reckless driving too) if I drive it to school and to work. The ride hight wit the suspention I have is bad for me as a driver, my g/f acctually gets sick in the stomack when I launch it.

Not for me I drive in Altlanta traffic every day and it's no problem at all. Bottom line test drive one and if they wont let you see if you can get a ride from a local Evo owner.

It's not as bad as some people make it out to be. But I guess it's personal preference. I like the way it feels. Reminds me that I have sport tuned suspension, and doesn't really seem too bad to me. If you got young kids, or a girlfreind that complains alot, then you might want to go more the luxary route.

In stop in go rush hour traffic, I'm more worried about the wear and strain on my car, then I am about my comfort. I'm still getting used to this whole air conditioning thing.

Different opinions on 150+ easily. Mine, no it doesn't. A corvette zo6 does 150 easilly. This car stock, has no top end power. To make this whip even with the higher displacement higher hp cars, you need to upgrade. As was said previously, the car was designed for short, twisty roads, and does them well. long straight aways ie; 150 mph stretches, ya it will get there, but it will take some time. And as a daily driver it's kind of harsh, if your asking that q in the first place.

So far I dalily drive everyday since I got the car. I have had my EVO little over 3 weeks and I already have 2300 miles on it :O . So all this talk about daily driving and not being good is definitly scaring me.
