Hey guys, what's going on? I've been a fan of the Evo for awhile now, and I've always wanted one. If I play my cards right, I might even be able to GET one in the near future, but it's not a certainty at the moment.
It just strikes me as a perfect car due to the four-doors and four wheel drive, since I live up North where it snows a lot in the winter, (and frankly, driving my Saturn in the snow scares the hell out of me. Really, driving that car at any time with cars around scares the hell out of me. That thing is tiny. TINY. My head touches the freaking ceiling when I drive...but it's better than no car at all.) and find myself having to cart people's sorry asses around. Not to mention the bragging rights and being able to beat my buddy's brand new Mustang Mach One in anything but a drag race.
I've got some questions, though.
First of all, is it better to drive the Evo before you buy it, or does it just rock so much that it doesn't matter?
Also, what is the first thing than an Evo owner should do with the car once they get it. Hopefully something that WON'T void the warranty, and probably after breaking the engine in, I imagine.

Well too bad that you dont live closer i would love to race your friend in any race he wanted. As far as the car it depends on if you are looking at other cars or not. If you are stuck on the evo then i wouldnt even worry about it. When i got mine i didnt care i just wanted it so i bought it right there first time i drove it was going home..LOL.. I have no regrets at all!!!

OH ya and if you dont want any problems with warranty dont do anything to the car at all! Anything you do will cause you problems. TRUST ME been there done that! There is a huge thread about Mitsu voiding warranties you should do a search and check it out.

Well, the Evo's definitely at the top of my list, but I'm not sure. All I know is that I want a 4WD sports car, because I can't stand driving trucks, SUVs, or Jeeps. And the only 4WD sports cars sold in the USA are pretty much the Evo and the WRX.

Yeah, I really hate the hood scoop on the STi. It looks ridiculous. And about Mitsu voiding warranties...well, you can't really blame them. There are so many ways you could take advantage of that warranty it's not even funny. They do it to protect their business interests.

Yeah, I was in North Carolina at a Mitsu dealership talking to a salesman about that. He said to get a set of beater rims, too, cause the stock ones are just too nice to get all dirty with snow and crap. Stock tires are probably great on dry pavement. Hell, probably great on dirt, too, it is a rally car.
