Are these noises normal???

Well, I put this in the newbie forum, well....Lets face it, I'm still a newbie to my car

So heres the question. Does anyones brakes squeek when going in reverse? Mine do almost every time. They usually never squeek when I'm pushing the brake in while going forward. Maybe one or twice. I've only got 2500 miles on the car, so maybe the brakes are still getting broken in? Also, when I close the passenger side front door, I here this squeeking noise what seems to come from around where the front tire is. I obsess about my car, and am just wondering if yours have ever done this. There used to be a squeek in the stick shift, but I got the dealer to lub it up under warrenty. If this isn't normal, or is not going to go away, then maybe the dealer can do something for me, since the only thing I have is an aftermarket intake, my warrenty isn't completely voided.

Thanks for your insight.

Haven't had any problems with the things that you mentioned. I would just take it back to the dealer under warranty and have them take care of the problems. No use wasting the warranty while you have it.

i have almost the same amount of miles on my new evo. i do noticed a few rattles here and there, one of which is in the dash on the passenger side. nothing major though. adds character. my brakes made minor noise for the first 1k miles or so, but nothing since then, i suppose i never went in reverse fast enough to have to hit my brakes hard enough to really make them want to bite.

I don't slam the breaks in reverse, I'm talking slowly applying pressure. Gives me a nice long whine while I do it.

are they squeeking after the car has been parked for awhile. if so it could just be oxidation on the rotors. sometimes the brakes can even stick to the rotors. sometimes in the morning i get a loud clunk backing out of my driveway. if so nothing to worry about.

i've got a question... do you all feel the steering jarring when you go over bumps or potholes? mine does and i think either the suspension/lower arm/tyroid/steering rack on the driver side has problem... it has this 'krik krik krak krak' sound coming out...sigh....

I don't have a problem with brakes squeeking in reverse. Although, my other car, 2003 Honda CRV, did for the first 5000 miles or so.

Hope fully it will go away. It only happens the first time I go in reverse. I usully back up, here it squeek, then go forward and back up again. It never squeeks the second time. Well, if it doesn't go away after a while, I'll just tell the dealer to fix it.
