Yellow Evo Owners ONLY

Just want your experience with the car, do you think it's too flashy?

Do you get pulled over more because of the color?

Never been bothered by the police but I do think it's pretty flashy. It definitely stands out in a parking lot to me, so I imagine it's the same on the road.

It's flashy yes...just about everyone looks at ya. If you had a black one, only people who know what an evo is (surprisingly few) would look/give you props. But with the yellow, everyone looks/stares; it seems like people that don't know evos know that it's at least something they don't want to mess with.

As far as cops, it seems like some people get a lot of attention. Me on the other hand, don't get even a look. I've been watching the cops when the drive by and they almost never look over. I guess it's just where I live, I dunno.

it is not flashy it screams, but i still love it. the only thing i hate is people spotting me everywhere (can't hide from my girlfriend anymore ). around here there is few evos and i am the only yellow one. i had one guy say to me " what the hell were you thinking? yellow? and what's up with that big as* wing?" then i took him for a ride, now he is my best friend

Yellow does stand out more than the other colors (maybe not quite as goodlooking). I was tailgated by a cop all the way out of his county. Lucky for me he didn't pull me over and pull some police brutality on my *** in a small little town. Yellow is good but I feel like I'm riding in a big banana. Lucky for us, there no gorillas around

Haven't been pulled over or bothered too much by police, other than being almost constantly followed/shadowed/tailgated by them. Having grey hair must offset the flashiness of the Lightning Yellow - other 'family' car (red one in pic) has grabbed much, much more unwanted police attention.

I feel like I get looks from cops whenever I pass them. I don't know, maybe I'm just paranoid. They really haven't bothered me too much yet though (knock on wood).

As for the color- when I first saw the car's color I wasn't really impressed, but I bought it anyway because I got a pretty decent deal and I figured I could repaint it. After a while it definitely grew on me. In fact, I don't think I would prefer any of the other colors (that's probably just my wallet talking-paint jobs are so expensive). The only color I think the evo looks better in is a few I've seen (custom and one MR) that were painted a BMW style steel blue. FWIW.

Oh yeah BTW- it really grabs the attention of the other drivers on the road. Like the others said- even if the other drivers don't know they shouldn't mess with me, they get the general feeling except for some stupid mustangs , but they figure it out after a while

Have had the "Lil Yellow Monster" (nicknamed by a buddy of mine) for over a year now and it does get noticed. Even non-car people know me as "the guy with the yellow car".

Interestingly enough, I have never been pulled over or harrased by the police. They generally don't even look my way. I was helping set up our last TLAC autocross a couple of weeks ago and two university police officers stopped by to see how we were doing. The younger one (in his mid 20's) was gushing all over our club president's silver M3. Neither officer gave my a EVO a second look.

I get looks all the time from cops, however, it seems over the last few months more and more of the local cops are starting to leave me alone (no tailgating, pacing, etc) and actually know i'm a respectable driver (unlike the highschool ricers). Which is pretty awesome considering i'm the only evo in town

So it's not too bad, no tickets yet though.

On another note, I got a LOT more attention in my red prelude -- 2 tickets and rearended twice.

First off sorry,if it matters... I'm not a yellow EVO....just a yellow lancer. Figured I'd chime in and say I notice that on the highway most people that see me in their rear view, in the passing lane, usually get out of my way which is really cool lol No cop trouble though.

Yellow

I own the only yellow Evo in the city of Chicago. It's great because there are hardly any yellow cars, much less yellow Evo's. I get calls on my cell phone from my friends who say, "Dude, you just drove by me" and my wife tells me that her friends see me all over town. I spoke with a guy who owns a red Evo. He gets the same type of comments, but it's NOT him. There are way more red Evos out there. You see a yellow Evo downtown or in the south side and you know its me. It's cool with me because I'm not trying to hide anything. A yellow Evo is NOT the car to have if you're dating more than one woman.

I probably drive past five cops every time I go someplace and I have yet to be profiled, followed, harassed etc. I mostly drive the speed limit and I don't really give the cops a reason to mess with me. I was driving down Lake Shore Drive last week. A cop came down the entrance ramp and immediately started pacing me. I knew I did not have anything to worry about because I was doing the speed limit. I heard his intercom, but I couldn't make it out because my window was up. I rolled down my window and he said, "I HAVE A RED ONE". He smiled and sped off. I haven't had anything but good experiences with the Chicago PD.

Another cool thing about the yellow is that it shows dirt well. It still looks fine after a rain shower. It can be straight up dirty and it doesn't really show it. I can go 4-5 days longer between washes than I did with my previous red car. When it's clean it's like BLING BLING.

Get a yellow Evo, but not if you live in Chicago

my brother has a yellow hooked up rex. cops dont hassle him but they sure do stare as we pass in NJ hearing the exhaust & bov similiar an evos. anyway, the worst part about having a flashy car is that everyone knows its you. that is good in a way, but everyday i have a million people iming me asking if i was in such a such place at a certain time because they saw me, and asking what i was doing. being an adult im sure its much less with this but still its quite annoying... especially as stated above with girls or parties. also, got any enemies? i'd watch out for that too. you dont realize it but when you drive around a flashy car and someone doesn't like you, and everyone always knows where it is because of its flashy color guess what gets targeted? speaking from experiance here too. and no i dont live in a bad neighborhood
