3M adhesive

I installed the Varis carbon trim for my Evo. I am not happy with the way that it looks and want to remove them. what is the best way to do this/ clean it up? It uses 3M adhesive to stick to the door pillars. I want to remove them as cleanly as possible so there isn't any adhesive left.

Maybe heat it up with a hair dryer and try to pull it off from the edge (slow and steady), if not dental floss back and forth might work. You can get adhesive remover at auto part stores to remove whats left off your paint.

maybe peel it off, rub off what you can, then get the 3M adhesive remover from any hardware store..

That might dull the plastic? If you can find some stuff called goo-gone it works really well.

Yep goo gone will take the adhesive residue off with no problem. Good stuff to have in your garage along with a can of PB Blaster and Stoner Invisible Glass

is the door pillar plastic? I'm referring to the black trim around the windows on the outside of the car.

just leave the adhesive on for a week .. all the air will harden in and u'll be able to rub it off with a tissue and water. trust me, i've done it before

::edit:: .. ok nevermind. i see u got it off. are these the CF pillars for the black part of the door? ... u didnt like it?

For the people that like using 3m adhesive remover on their paint, be careful too much of it will soften the paint.

3m adhesive remover is much safer than Goo Gone on paint. Make sure to wash the area of all the chemical after use and you should be fine.

I used Goo Gone to remove the last of the adhesive from when I debaged the trunk... and the rag came out pink (mine is red) and I wasn't rubbing hard at all. That stuff is harsh on paint.
