price wise, the EVO and the IS300 may be similar, but 2 totally different machines ure talking about

EVO vs STI
IS300 vs TSX

thats how the comparison should be

theoratically, the EVO has the most reliable engine (the 4G63 has been around for more than 14 years, go figure). I would not buy an IS300... it makes me feel bad to get the "bottom of the line" from a manufacturer... its like getting a mirage from mitsubishi
haha

Thanks for the help guys.

I really am leaning towards an EVO. I went and checked out the RX8 and the 350z today..

Anyway, what insurance do a lot of you guys recommend? I went through esurance and seeing as I have an accident, speeding tickets and a careless driving it's about 260+...

Anyone know of an insurance company that could possibly save me some money? Thanks.

Not forgotton, but not impressed neither... a fwd 4G63 (dont get me wrong, I used to have a GS-T also) almost impossible to get that power on the ground, not to mention the handling characteristics is totally ruined by the heavier engine (talking about the swap in the mirage)
a 46G3 in a mirage body will neither dominate in autocross (bad handling) nor drag (no traction from fwd)

you still have to admit though that a mirage running 10s is a nice sight to see

Checked both insurance companies (East and Wan) and neither are in Florida. Although Eastwood says they are coming to FL "soon"...unless I missed something.

Esurance has given me the best rate so far at about 260ish with about 3 speeding tickets, an accident, careless driving ;(

maintenance? no big deal with evo, i got 23k on mine, still stock clutch, (mods are below) i just drive it, Sure i dont abuse it much as every light i go 5.5 and dump the clutch. i dont baby neither, Why i went with evo ? hmm, good question, maybe because its easy to modifiy to make it fast for cheap, since we got snow here - its awesome i dont need a spare car for winter) when it rains/snow smile comes to my face... take a good care of it and it will last.

good luck.

also remember... dont believe the gas mileage numbers.... an is300 cant burn gas even close to what an evo can do with full boost.... its scary... go 10 minutes under constant boost and you'll loose a few gallons in a hurry. in 10 MINUTES!!!

I think the IS300 is slightly over rated. Ive driven one and it doesnt accelerate that well and doesnt handle like a car of its quality should. Plus the evo is a pure adrenaline rush. There is nothing better than boost kicking in. It also takes a lot of money to make an IS300 perform like an evo. A few mods and the evo is insane.

I think you should go with the Evo not just from my opinion but you cant go wrong with Automobile magazines car of the year and Sport Compact Cars #1 sports car of all time....
All in all I would honestly say I would not trade my Evo for any other car unless it was a better Evo.

If getting the most performance for your money is your thing, it would be hard to choose anything but the evo, unless you can afford a lotus elise. As far as maintainance, when you take into account the performance of the car, i think the evo is a bargin to maintain. Consider what the maintainance costs of an m3, or a 911 carrera (which the evo out-performs) would be.

If you want to go fast straight and in turns or all out performance get Evo. You want plush ride with some pwr than get the Lexus. For me KING EVO puts a smile on my face every time I turn the key.

I've been told the EVO has a bit of a bumpy ride if it's your daily driver (which it will be) after all I am only 21. Anyway, what would you guys recommend I get first once I (which I believe I'm going to do) when I get the EVO.

Seen a lot of people on here saying to get that shifter (whatever it's called), but what kind of shocks/springs do you think would do me well? Thanks.

Think I'm going to go with a used one. I went online and found a couple EVO's with like 500 miles on em for like 27000.
