Try to time the purchase of your evo with the debut of the 05's... I got my 04 with 4 miles on the odometer for $29,100 out of the door
If u think the ride on the evo is too harsh, yet you want a vehicle with comparable performance, the sti is your best bet... the evo is a more mod-friendly car than the sti (consider that the sti's 2.5 engine doesnt have too much aftermarket support since its still relatively new)
I love cars and I love modding cars.. thats why I went with an evo... I would have gotten an sti if i never plan to upgrade my car at all
But yea, if spirited driving is your passion, and you dont have a gf to impressive, definitely get an evo/sti instead of the is

If you want luxury and a little bit of umph I say go for g35. Lexus IS are for pussies and it was meant as a luxury car, but they say its a sport luxury bologne. But with all that said if you have money you can have one of the deadliest sleeper around. Put 2jz supra engine and turbo that sucker and you'll smile away into terrorizing your town.

is300 before i bought the evo. evo is almost twice as is300 around here.

that is odd about the insurance I have an 03 Evo and Love it... just normal maintanence tire changes every 10-13k miles oil chances every 3-5k miles and 30k mile tuneups... Stuff for the Evo isn't cheap tuneups tires oil etc all seems to be more expensive than my last car (acura) but The Evo is worth Every penny its a killer ride

I think the IS was about 35 bucks more or so. .
Esurance or AIG seems to be the best bet for me for insurance at the moment. About 3 grand a year..with all my ridiculous **** on my license.

i like how the IS-300 front end looks and it has a much better interior, the evo has a toy-box feel to the interior, i mean i love the momo steering wheel and the recaros are real nice.
but when it comes to performance, fun, and speed you can't beat the evo hands down

Could someone explain the 03 and 04 differences in the EVO? I remember seeing a few people having some problems in the 03 models that the 04 didn't, but other then that is there much signifant change? I can't seem to find any used 04's around here (course still looking), but I've seemed to find some good deals on 03's. .
There are like 5 03's within 200 miles of me with no more then 700 miles on em (guessing demo cars) going from anywhere to 24k-29k. . .
Figure I can also get a few grand knocked off the sticker including the 10k DP I'll put down. Appreciate it guys. I've searched but I can't seem to find it. If you don't really feel like responding I'd appreciate just a link up..thanks.

o3 and o4 diff... ummm i heard from ummm.. damm wats taht damm site again.. o yea the lancer shop... theres this filter called the in-cabin air purifier filter.. that goes behind glove box... anyways... the o3 evo... it has a spot for that filter.. but it doesn't come wit it.. the o4 comes with the filter.... wat kinda chit is that.....

o yea.. found out the rear door jamb protectors don't come on 2k3 and early 2k4 evo's... same link as above.. this is wat it says.. If you own an 03 or early 04 EVO VIII, odds are your car did not come stock with this part. This kit includes (2) 3m protectors for both rear door jambs. We highly reccomend installing this kit if you do not like rust on your car. Fits Lancer EVO 8
