Ok, so this is the deal: about 2 weeks ago I was going on the highway, minding my own business when a cop clocks me at ~20mph over the limit (it sucks but hey, that's not the interesting part of the story). So he does his thang and comes back giving me the citation. I was so mad I couldn't even look at the citation. So I get home and check the plate # and everything, when I see that he wrote down that I was driving a DODGE LANCER !!! hahahaha It's not like I removed any Mitsubishi signs or nothing off my car, it's a stock 2003 Lancer ES. I don't know, but I thought you have to have at least a little knowledge about cars to even use a laser speed detector. heh

yeah most folks just assume Dodge b/c they were rocking the Lancer badge, many older people would tell me that same thing when i would say Lancer.

nah, it's not worth trying to get out of the ticket, I'd just get slapped with extra court costs, since they won't take my excuse for speeding to school, which is true. Plus I got caught in a city where 95% of the time I pass through it there's someone getting a ticket. I just got caught because they found a new hiding spot

 

good call, i fought a ticket for $170, won in court, and ended up paying $140 in court cost, and even w/ a reduced 1 pt. ticket my insurance still went up.... can never win.

my ticket was like 70 bucks for a headlight violation, but b/c the ticket said 7:45 am and not pm it was dropped (it was in the summer so it would have been lite out till 9... idk

hey man, belive me, fight it, you will win, the case will be dropped. my aunt got a ticket and they accidentally checked off male instead of female and they dropped it cus the info was wrong so whats to say the rest of the ticket wasnt wrong either. believe me, if your not gonna fight it at least go to them and tell them this and they might just drop it for you.

 

It won't get you off the ticket but you can attack his integerety with it and that can help you out in court.

 

When i had my civic i was following my friend home from work, we made a quick turn and this cop pulled us over for racing. i pulled right over and my friend made a right on a side street, so the main cop followed him and a back up cop came and gave me my ticket, the best part was they both put somthing different on the tickets, when we got home and compared them, they had us coming from 2 different directions on the road. about 3 weeks later we got letters from the courts saying do not appear in court cause your ticket has been dropped, which was a very nice thing cause those are some pretty hefty fines

 

Dodge did used to make a lancer, just so we are clear on that guys

 

yeah lol my car got totaled...and i went to the yard to take all my **** out of it..and im all "here to take my stuff off my Lancer" and i hear the guy "hey...u know where that dodge lancer is?" lol it was so funny

 

Yeah, look up the Dodge Colt. It shared the Lancer platform, even though the Mitsubishi Lancer wasn't available in the US that long ago. However, the Mirage was basically a Colt during some years. A friend of mine even had a Colt that said "Imported by Dodge". Funny how the Dodge Colt went away over 10 years ago.

Dodge Lancer? Sounds to me like the cop clocked another car and mistakingly pulled you over. At least that's what I'd tell the court.
