that's where I was with 91oct and Greddy 264s (basically stock LOL). That was my limit on boost and timing, which is why I'm surprised you say he can do 400. I guess if it's tuned within an inch of its life?

Basically a stock turbo on steroids. Turbine wheel is oem, but compressor wheel is FP's billet 71hta wheel. Spools identical to stock but flows a lot more. Best $699 you'll spend on your car

BTW will this turbo fit the Evo8 stock manifold? I looked into FP page and they're offering an install kit but not sure if is required?

Yes, it will. The install kit, IIRC, is to put it into an VIII because the water pipes are different. Your VIII water pipes will not fit the HTA71 due to a larger comp housing.

Just to clarify, is the stock oil feed OK for the HTA71 ? In other words a Generation 1 Evo 8 fitment kit will work ? Is the Gen 2 with oil supply kit then only required for the Green/Red/Black etc ?

I'm busy planning my Evo 8 MR build (and new to the Evo world as I'm an ex Honda boy) so just want to make sure I plan my upgrade path properly. My goals are the same as the OP.
