I know this is probably a covered topic, but I searched for "model changes" "changes" etc and did not come up with anything.

My corporation will be buying an EVO very soon in order to do product testing, etc. I have an 04 STI right now and have done everything you can possibly imagine to it. This allows me to answer any questions possible for the STI pretty much. I want the same first-hand knowledge with the evo (that and I will be building it up). So I was looking at the new 05 evos as they have a front LSD and acd correct ? (this will supposedly eliminate the breaking of the transfer case/spider gears/or whatever is breaking inside the transfer case). I have been researching a lot on these forums trying to pick up information, but I will be honest, I have never owned a mitsu or even seen a 4g63 (other then my friend's evo 8 and another's evo 7). I mean I know the layout and what not, but I havent gotten to tinker or mess with one.

Sorry for the long paragraph... here my question. I want an 05 evo due to the upgrades in the drivetrain, so that I dont have to worry about that. However, I read that it will have a "better flowing" turbo according to road and track ors omething (giving itanother 5hp/15tq or something). My main concern is the compatibility of the 03-04 evo parts and the 05. Will it still be twin scroll? Same exhaust layout? etc? It would be pointless for me to do product testing if everything is changed. I do not mind testing new stuff, however I'd like the basics of the EVO and the 4G63 before we start building turbo kits, downpipes, etc for it.

Thanks and sorry for the long post. As ridiculous as the changes are in the 05 sti... I was really nervous about the 05 evo being that dramatically different.

Ok that makes sense then, the way they said "New turbocharger" I thought they actually had changed the design. Thats great then I should be talking with my dealer soon about an 05. Thanks for answering the newb question
