I saw the IX at the NY auto show on friday. Up close it looks much better in person. I might get it when they get to the dealers. Might just keep my VIII though.

I'll just be keeping my VIII... maybe waiting for a X... maybe not.

You can't be afraid of change, though. It is an EVOLUTION after all. Each and every successor is supposed to be better than the last.

I will probably upgrade to the X. Don't have any info on the XI(11). If you mean IX in the poll than I would wait for the X.

if the mods are stock motor based than yes. if aftermarket, the margin is alot slimmer.

if the nine comes with mivec i think it would be possible to run even bigger cams with near stock idle, i can see something like that in the future but not sure

4000 miles
How many were racing miles?

I have to agree with Turbo-Ron, the IX is better stock. Then again, you want to modify, so maybe you want to mod now and not later. If that's the case, then get the VIII.

MIVEC sucks, only has valve timing and no electronic lift control like VTEC or vvti. I'de rather have GDI. VIII + cam gears and a tune will get you better HP/TQ, MPG.

I think for anyone that's going to remain stock MIVEC will be a boon. It's supposed to allow for a quicker spool up and a more even torque curve.

To me it seems yes, they havent done anything but improve, if you want to mod tomorrow maybe u should stick with an EVO VIII, but if your not racing and you have time, it seems the EVO IX would be the smarter choice?

What do you guys think?
hmmm .... lets see .... will the Evo Evolve?

That's a tough one!

i still dont get why people are saying that?...ill be proven wrong once people start to tune.....its only timing ont he intake side, and doesnt deal with lft....so im sure the pro tuners wont have a problems with it...you'll see

maybe use of a piggy...to tune...but most of you guys run some kind o f piggy or ems anyways...

Yes - the prospect of having a smoother torque curve is very appealing!

I'm optimistic about the 9.

Again - I asked Shiv about the MIVEC and he said he doesn't forsee a tuning problem.
