So is the Evo IX not worth it then?

Why is MIVEC such a hinderance? I look at it as an improvement. I don't have complete professional knowledge of this technology, but it seems like it's a positive step.

Or no?

The EVO 11 will not be as good as the EVO 10 which will not be as good as the EVO 9 which will not be a s good as the EVO 8 which is undoubtedly not as good as the EVO7 .... Actually, the EVO 1 is prolly the berst of them all.. Oh wait a minute, maybe the Lancer non evo, a 1986 model maybe the best yet. NO wait, the Colt was better......

Oh yeah, every new engine from now on will definitely be a hindrance to performance. Definitely, no EVO from now on will be worth it, No, wait, they are not worth it now.

Yea, i do not like the new front bumper and grill setup for the IX. But supposedly it is faster by.1 seconds in the 0-60 but it still isn't an EVO VIII. I've always had my heart set on the VIII so i'm gonna stick with that until I get it. Then we can discuss the IX.

Don't fear the 9 **** ...

STOP whining!

YES the 9 WILL be better, but the 8 is still an Evo ... still a beast.

Plus ... It don't mean $hit if you are tuning.
In that case I'm sure I can find a old 197X Corolla to destroy you on the street or track. Does it mean that I'm in the market for the said old school Corolla?!

No. I'm gettin a 9 cause its better than an 8!

Sorry man ... I get a little edgy when a new arrival's on the way.

I've had a deposit down since 03!

last chance to buy a new 4G63 ... I think I actually have to collect the car this time!

I've just been having way too much fun destroying Subie's with my little Sentra.

But, time to take it up a notch...

With very few exceptions, each newer car is better than the preceeding model. That's the way it is. Think about, would make an inferior car to replace a successful model? That's insane, they want to entice ppl to trade in their older EVOs in on the new ones. They've got to make improvements in order to do that..... Sure, sometimes they make mistakes and a new model bombs, but generally the newer models are "improved", not "degraded"

No doubt the 9 will be at least marginally better than the 8, etc. That's EVOLUTION,

For real - it's just that - it's a little frustrating for current owners ...

... that it's not cost effective to trade up every time a new model comes out with new goodies.

So we have some ranting that the new one isn't all that, etc. BUt you summed it up pretty well.

Oh, I know it I think it's funny when everybody starts on the bandwagon about how "the new MR isn't worth it", the new EVO is gonna suck, the next engine is gonna be bad, on and on ........ It's such a transparent case of sour grapes
I really think it's a little bit in the pathetic side, they feel bad that they don't have the newest one so they put it down so they can feel better about what they have.... You see it also when comparing other cars, etc. There are lots of ppl who'll seriously tell you that they rather have an EVO than a new twin turbo all wheel drive Porsche if they had the choice There are guys in the Miata forums that'll flat out tell you their 1.6 l first gen Miata is better than a new EVO It's all the same mind games, mental masturbation

for real ... but the insecurity still surprises me because all Evo models since Evo I, have been extremely capable machines with the same motor.

I'm surprised they don't appreciate what they have as being good enough and acknowledge the reality of the situation.

Sounds like a good deal just an upgraded 8....but then I think about it, and the 4g63 motor has been around forever they took from 99 to 03 to fix and re-relase it....hence the evo8 and they still have 4 recalls some were just stupid but still, i dont know if i would buy one right away, just like anything new, I sit back and watch for about a year, and wait to see what happens when people actually get a hold of them...then buy one with low miles thats a year or two old, if all goes well...
just my .02

Yes Einstein, but the MIVEC technology is currently in use in the Lancer Rallyart isn't it?!

That's enough testing for me.
