Drive the car around for a month without the heatshield on and see if it still looks like that with water getting all over it!

Dammit, why did mine come all rusty?? I bought it with like 20 miles on it, I guess it's just the bloody humidity., . . .

I'd get a stock one coated for sure, and yeah, it's for HEAT REDUCTION, but then again, coating it also means it'll crack sooner. . .that shiz is hot. . .

because it is reducing radiant heat, and if it's containing rather than radiating, it'll cause increased thermal stress on the metal. . .thus leading to the higher potential for cracking, it's all a probability anyways, it should last at least 5-10 years, right?!

does anybody know how much it usually run to coat the ex manifold? or is it's just a waste of money and just invest on an aftermarket one?

So it really isn't worth it to get it coated in the long run.

upgrade to an aftermarket!!! I did, and it was worth every penny. I installed a DC Sports SS exh manifold. I love it, great throttle response and super fast spool up.
Incredible weight savings and no more rust!!!!! F'n Right

that's my 2cents
