SRT4 Caliber:
- 2.4l
- FWD
- 5 door

Those are just some main features that make up each car. So how does it even make any sense to post something saying "Dodge Evo X"?!? LOL
Those two cars are as similar as the Neon SRT4 and the EVO 8, IMO.
Plus the look of Caliber Just making yyou puke and evo Looks Aggressive!!!

Dodge Evo X, eh? I don't think that car will have anything in common mechanically with the Evo X.

You know you SOUND like you know what your talking about, and then you say "V4"....

The similarities will stop at the Aluminum block as far as mechanics goes (won't be the first time Mitsu shared a performance oriented V4 engine with others... search around for 4G63 and you'll see more then Mitsu cars) The Getrag technology won't be the same as Mitsu's double SST (everyone seems to have their own brand of tranny technology & thus will develop their own in this regard). The SRT4 other then that will barely come close to 300hp & all of that to the front wheels, can't say it's really anything that close to the Evo X.

I take the SRT-4 which I grew to tollerate... The WRX/STI's was actually tollerable looking at one point in time so for them to look like... well... a Subaru looking like it had an orgy with a Focus, a mazda hatch & a Lexus RX & asking Maury Povich "WHO's The DADDY?!?! ONE OF DEEM BE DA DADDY!!!" is just bleeeh

I just think that mitsu sharing parts out the same bin is not going to save the company but only hurt it. Sharing platforms and engines will soon lead to a demise of both companies. No longer will an evo be an evo but a bastard son of some hacked up mitsu/dodge/hyundia conglomerate. Its just another step in the wrong direction for mitsubishi. I do believe the evo x hatchback will be a lot more in similar in mechanics to the caliber than obviously the sedan, which is why I posted the title.

Mitsu has shared engines/components for many years before the whole GEMA thing happened. Just look up the use of 4G63. It was also shared with Daimler Chryster and Hyundai.

Someone close this thread, please. Thanks.

Let's call all the cars evo X, no matter dodge or hyundai,
now and in the future,
that shares anything with the evo X engine development
Good idea!

Read a bit of history of evo may help, I think.

Also, this thread is as "tight" as that 'Evo-X, tightest car ever?!" thread.

the lancer evolution is mitsu's baby. I think it's safe to say that they wouldn't let any other car company make a clone, let alone a crappy clone.

I think too many people misunderstand what GEMA is all about. The manufacturers are not sharing engines. They're sharing manufacturing facilities, workers, and a few engineering points. In the end, each of the 3 manufacturers come up with their own final designs for the engines they need.

BMW EVO V just released.
This actually has the letters "EVO" in the name, not like the OTHER EVO in this thread.
