EVO X spotted in Cali. on the highway..pics included
Wow, i cant believe i wasted all that time at work reading this entire thread...
There are good points on both sides of the arguement, but in the end it boils down to opinion and the subjective take on appearance. I bet if we took a poll on who is the most beautiful girl in the world, we would get a hundred different answers. The same goes here, except there are only two options to choose from, Evo VIII/IX and Evo X.
I for one LOVE the look of both and for different reasons. If forced to comapre them side by side, I will probably go for the Evo X as the overall stance and lines makes me think "poised, elegant and mean!"
What i dont understand is the idea on how offereing a semi-auto, curving the edges a bit, and offering new interior goodies automatically makes it a "chick" car that everyone and thier grandma will buy? For one, technology gets cheaper as it gets older, thus the intro of things like Nav and more quality matierals in the interior to the bottom end econo-boxes like the Lancer. Its no longer because these are luxury options, its because the technology and manufacuring of these items have become cheap enough to offer in lower priced cars. Second, im sure if i asked a girl or eldery grandma to choose between a Lexus IS250 with leather seats and a smooth ride over an Evo X with a turbo engine and stiff suspension, not one would pick the Evo. There are so many better options out there for the price for a regular 4 door sedan that i doubt the mass of the car buying populace will give the Evo a second look. Its only car freak folks like us who will give notice.

LOL...see this is where you are wrong...even if I do get walked on by eVo X...there is so much more stuff for the iX then there will be for the X...it will take couple years for the aftermarket to make stuff for the X...while the stuff for the iX will still be there....arguing that point leads only to whose got the deeper pockets to mod their cars...
i got the broschure in japanise language.. so these models are for japan market.
Here the X RS got different wheels and no brembos. Also only 5 MT. Looks to me the X RS will be lighter then the IX RS.The RS will also be the only Evo X model to have a standard 1.5 way rear LSD.
And looks like only in white...

This thread is just ridiculous. Buy whatever car you can afford. The majority of Evo owner's here don't even use the car for what it was intended for like circuits and AutoX. Do you honestly believe that it will change with the new Evo X coming out. All you will see is how much power you can extract from the Evo X with the stock Turbo and ECU and BPU's. It really won't be that much, because let's face it this is a 4 cylinder, 2 liter engine that can only run so much boost and make so much power.
I would be even more interested in the new Evo X if it offered a bigger engine, since Mitsu isn't in WRC anymore why restrict the engine size to 2 liters only? I mean really make it evolve. I mean you'll have the choice of a 2 liter Iron block that is proven(AMS , Buschur, CFT,) or a 2 liter aluminum block that just came out what would you pick as of now? We will see in the next few years what the new platform will offer, but it won't be much better than the current one if even at all. It'll still have lag because of the small displacement.
Do you also honestly think the majority of current Evo Owners/Enthusiasts bought the car for what it can do in stock form? Most people bought it because they knew and researched how powerful the 4G63 can be and what BPU's can do to awaken it even more, and how reliable they can be. Also with a good suspension how well the car can handle.
IMO I have to agree with highbredcloud I really am not a loyalist to any brand of Cars. I only like a certain Car and really could care less about the rest of the car's that company has. I am sure there will be a way better car coming out like the New skyline or the Current C6 Z06. As of now I am really content with my current car and hope to have another awesome car parked next to it within the next few years, although I can honestly say it will not be a new Evo X. I love the current Evo's but I want more displacement and close to no lag at all when going WOT.
Edit: IMO I don't think the current Evo's would've been as popular or would've sold as good if it didn't have the powerful 4G63.

I'm simply tired of reading "eVo."
How about an on-topic comment ... It's cool that the X has been spotted on the streets. That must mean it's being released soon! It will be interesting to see how the new chassis and engine turns out.
How's that? Good?

But that could be for the JMarket.
US ETA was like Q108.
From what I read.
