wait a minute here... did you just basically call yourself a ricer???? oh lordy

as for the SST, it's NOT an automatic, although it has an automatic mode. to say that mitsu made the SST to sell more evos is ridiculous. not only will it cost an extra $2k-ish, it offers FASTER shifting and so BETTER performance. is ferrari's F1 gearbox also made for the masses? Ridiculous!!! will SST eventually replace the automatics? imo YES. they developed the technology why not use it? evidence of this is the new cX concept at frankfurt which also uses SST.

as for subie, it's clear why they made the WRX softer. they have the STi for the hardcore. why wouldn't they want to sell more WRX's when they still have the STi to satisfy the gearheads??? some may hate the 5 door body style but remind me again what body style has won the last few WRC championships?

your whole post is ridiculous. of course car companies want to sell more cars. but that doesn't necessarily mean they are "diluting" the cars. the evo x is as hardcore as ever if you want it to be. don't like SST? get the manual. this isn't an AMG model where all you can get is an auto. you have a choice. want a hardcore racer? go with the RS or don't get the moonroof and nav packages. yeah subie has gone soft with the WRX but the STi is their halo car. and we haven't seen that one yet so hold your judgment...

if you wanna drive a car that's exclusive get a ferrari, not a mitsu or subie...
There is no confusion here...the new X will is aimed to a more general population...they want to sell more cars...simple...like you said...SST will probably replace the AUTO...it could happen...just think...even though SST is aimed for performance purposes...however now a person that does not know how to drive stick and still get an eVo...a person that does not like the boxy look of a car can now get the more rounded X...I can't believe you fail to see this...it will not only go after the middle aged demographics...and women...but also people considering the higher end vehicles such as the audi's...simply to say its less of an enthusiast car as the pervious eVo's...this happend not only with Mitsu...but Subie...and I can personally contest to that happening with other car manufacturers as well...for example the 5.0 foxbody mustang was a total dude car...now you see a bunch of women driving the newer mustangs along with middle age men...LOL...the new X will follow those footsteps...but I bet it will be proclaimed as the best selling eVo...I wonder why...? LOL...

For your info...the new STi...will very closely resemble the WRX...not much differnce...not my cup of tea...

I think the new SUBARU and X look fine.
Subaru always had decent cars. The Legacys, STI, WRX.
All decent cars.
They didn't win WRC cups for nothing.
The same goes with the EVOs.
The thing is when someone starts a new thread, the same subject comes right back up.
X looks like ***t, the 08 WRX looks like ***t.
4g63 engine is the bomb and the 4b11 isn't.
The last best EVO was this model blah blah.
I don't really see anyone backing up all their trash talk.
And that's all it is - trash.
It's worth that much.
I think when a new thread starts, it should be a NEW thread.

show me where? I purchased the eVo iX as a daily driver...because

1. I wanted a 4 banger
2. it had to have a turbo
3. AWD

this limits me to how many choices out there? the eVo...the subie...the audi...lol...

I did want a car that looks nice...I also did want leather as I think an eVo with cloth is not worth the money...what really sold me on the eVo is handling...and huge aftermarket support...just incase I want to go fast...but for now if I want to walk an eVo...all I have to do is get into one of my 5.0's... again...not talking about walking a modded eVo...as I am tempted to tinker with my DD iX just to see if I can give my 5.0s a run for their money...so yeah call me a ricer...actually the first thing that I do plan on purchasing is a CF deck mechanical front lip and a JDM bumper...and the engine will be stock...

sorry...if the X was out right now and I couldn't get a iX or an VIII...I would probably be driving an Audi...or a 04-05 STi...sorry that the X is ugle IMO...sorry that the X does not have that "thing" that makes you like it the very first time you see it...sorry that it takes time to grow to like it...and lastly sorry that so many of us feel the same way...this would not happen if the X looked differently...it just lacks that thing that the new vetter and mustang have...there's plenty of cars that have the best technology...but look like crap...or too much like every other car out there...

The eVo iX to me is like a sexy hot chic you fantasize about...the eVo X is like a fat chick on a mission....even though beauty is only skin deep...does it really justify getting my jimmy wet?

hooked on phonix obviously didn't work for you...the comprehention of basic sentences is not your fault...but the fault of the american educational system...If I want to race...I will get into something that is fast...eVo's stock are not that fast...but its nice to know that if you want to go fast there is plenty of companies out there that can make you go fast...

You fail to consider that I had what...like 3 choice of a mitsu...subie...or audi...

again...breath...close your eyes...and try...listen...

I donno I still don't like it much.
It looks big and bulky. I think it will grow on me, but I'm not a fan yet.

So far the best thing I like about the 10, is that it will make the price of a 9 come down

Actually, you did not write any sentences. It's nothing more than a run on linked together by a bunch of periods. learn to type and people might take you a bit more seriously next time.

Also, its not "eVo" its "Evo".

The same rhetoric that is being said about the Evo X is exactly what was said prior to the release of the Evo VIII. There was a small group of forum members that had to have the Evo VII. However, when they saw the Evo VIII they complained about its looks, or how it would never sell, or what it did or did not have. The thing is, those same people that complained about it ended up buying an Evo VIII anyway. The same will be true for the Evo X.

Most people don't like to feel that something could come out that is better than theirs. They do their best to try to justify why theirs is better than what could possibly come out, and why you should think the same. The thing is, in this world, technologies change all the time, you'll never be able to keep up unless you are rich or like to throw money away. The best thing to do is just be proud of what you own.

I have a 2003 Evo myself. Do I like the X? Yes. Can I afford one right now? No, but that doesn't mean I'm going to tell you that you shouldn't like it because I can't get it, or that its better than mine. No one really knows much about how well it will perform, so we need to wait to be able to decide which is better.

I'm just happy that Mitsubishi is still making them.

Eh... Evo X does not = Mustang for the pure fact that the SST can be driven as a manual OR an auto. Last I checked a Mustang GT only has options for an auto or a manual transmisson. The SST gives the best of both worlds of accessibility of an automatic with BETTER shifting then what you can achieve with a manual... if you just need to bang your foot on the clutch then there is the cheaper manual option so again what's the prob? If your argument is the SST letting women & old men drive the same thing that was once exclusive to a crowd of "manly men" then I think it'll fall on the deaf ears of common sense that auto-manual transmissions being a damn good option even for "enthusiasts" who wants to get the most out of their car performance wise. The move for transmission is more of a performance enhancer that just so happens to be something that'll attract a larger demographic being a mid 30k-40k vehicle. Going by your logic a larger number of people should be going after Bugatti Veyrons & Ferrari Enzos because they don't have a clutch.

It will grow on you because there will be no other choice if you want a new car...there's plenty of cars out there that people like right of the bat...I don't get why some people eventually grow to like it...its like comprimising or settling for something...thank God for competition...
