Close but no cigar. Peep this spy video.

It looks so plain and dull compared to the Evo VIII and XI.

We should probably all keep in mind that when the Evo VIII came to the U.S., body kits had already been developed since the dawn of the VII. So many of us had already seen it dressed up, it was easier to look past the ugly Pontiac rhino horn (which I still dislike to this day). I'm sure many will drool when the first CWest or APR Widebody Evo X shows up. I don't really like it either. Especially how similar it looks to the regular Lancer. Gimme fender bulges! I'll probably like it more when someone comes up with some widebody fenders for it, like on the new Castrol ads.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, stop judging the car off of poor quality photos like this. No offense to the photo taker (I can imagine taking pics and driving at the same time isn't the easiest) but these photos flat out suck. I honestly believe the North American Debut will be the LA Auto Show in November, then we can truly see in person (well us Californians) how the X looks.

You guys are all talkin about no more manual transmissions.. That's raw.. Well it'll have a manual.. And the SST.. You ink they are coming out with the SSt just to appeal to the general public? You're sadly mistaken.. Mitsu's goal is to make a BETTER EVO.. What was their target? STI? Corvette? Porsche? NO.. It was the EVO IX.. And by giving the option of having a (supposedly) lightning quick ultimate transmission, in place of the typical manual, I'd say that's an improvement. Not to mention the S-AWC, and all the little trinkets that come along.. And what else? More power outa the box.. Don't go talking schit about how the engine is gonna suck, WHEN YOU HAVEN'T EVEN HEARD THE DAMN THING RUN!! Much less tune the freakin thing..

Remember when we used to have 8 tracks inside vehicles for music? Now we have I-pods! Technology is a beeotch aint it.. R.I.P. 4G63.. But maybe the new savior will be the good ole 4B11....

I'll take my X with the SST please!!

And why is Subie all of a sudden toning down on the looks of the car...so that it attracts women drivers as well as middle aged demographics...as for the X...think man...prior to this point...all eVo's were manual...now you get an option...that's more ways to make the car more marketable...and sellable...LOL...yeah you're right the wing is smaller...but the body is also not as boxy too...sure it has a more powerful powerplant...but the looks of the car just don't do it for me...Again I don't wanna drive a car that every as$hole is gonna have on the streets...and its seems like all that it matters is sales sales and more sales...its a business afterall...Some cars all you have to do is look at once and you will fall in love with them...the X unfortunately does not do it for me...I am sure others feel the same way...stock...yeah its going to be better...not even gonna argue that one...but in all honesty I could care less...Just because the car is a newer model does not mean its a better car...certain years remain more desirable than others...and IMO iX takes the cake...I guess in time all of us will find out the tunability of the new motor...but for the rest of us its nice to know we can own a X with minimal mods to the iX...
i really think you're confused or something.

the lancer was made to look like the evo to sell more LANCERS, NOT to sell more evos. ask any regular joe on the street if the evo looks more "radical" vs a civic and i guarantee that they'll say yes. the lancer vs the civic? not so much... the evo X will appeal no more to the general public as the current evo.

as for the SST, it's NOT an automatic, although it has an automatic mode. to say that mitsu made the SST to sell more evos is ridiculous. not only will it cost an extra $2k-ish, it offers FASTER shifting and so BETTER performance. is ferrari's F1 gearbox also made for the masses? Ridiculous!!! will SST eventually replace the automatics? imo YES. they developed the technology why not use it? evidence of this is the new cX concept at frankfurt which also uses SST.

as for subie, it's clear why they made the WRX softer. they have the STi for the hardcore. why wouldn't they want to sell more WRX's when they still have the STi to satisfy the gearheads??? some may hate the 5 door body style but remind me again what body style has won the last few WRC championships?

your whole post is ridiculous. of course car companies want to sell more cars. but that doesn't necessarily mean they are "diluting" the cars. the evo x is as hardcore as ever if you want it to be. don't like SST? get the manual. this isn't an AMG model where all you can get is an auto. you have a choice. want a hardcore racer? go with the RS or don't get the moonroof and nav packages. yeah subie has gone soft with the WRX but the STi is their halo car. and we haven't seen that one yet so hold your judgment...

if you wanna drive a car that's exclusive get a ferrari, not a mitsu or subie...

yeah I am reading it...just one thing that makes me ask this...Lots of you think the new WRX and STi when it comes out are ugly even though they have better technology...why can't this be true about the X? Even the Subie guys think the new WRX is horrible looking...I wonder what they say about the X...but I bet its prolly not good...Personally the best STi is the 04-05 models...everything else sux...eventhough its newer...that is true with other cars as well...like the new M3...I perfer the 06 models to the new 08 or 07 one that is currently out...Again...I am not a hardcore eVo guy yet...I purchased a car based on it looks...I think the 8/9 is way better looking than the X...granted I have not seen it in person live...but it just looks too much like a freakin lancer...I probably am a prime example of a materialistic driver out of anyone here...I will go all looks before the actual go (primarly due to warrenty restrictions...and who the f*** wants to mod an eVo with super low miles?)...if I get my as$ handed to me by a X which out of the box is a very storng possiblity...its nice to know that I can upgrade very easily and walk the X like a little puppy...again...the whole speed thing to me is not of importance since there's always gonna be someone faster then you anyways...A lot of you are so brand loyal that you can't or refuse to see that its possible that a company might have made a mistake with a new model...
