High Resolution PICS - EVO X GSR
Of course I see the FMIC, but that's not the point..
My argument is that it could of been launched as a new platform like Project X, or anything else besides lancer evolution.. why..? cuz its a new motor, chassis, tranny, interior, etc etc etc.. do I need to go on.. everything is so different and not just that it holds no image reflection to what it has been b4.. where the f*** is the evolution in that.. I could look at all models I through IX and am able to see a resemblance amongst all of those models.
I see a X and am scratching my head like how the f*** did mitsu go to that.. no evolution what so ever.. so why badge it and make ppl pissed off as they have not delivered an evolved platform.. instead they have delivered a whole new ball game.
The 4B11 maybe edgy but it has no place to be the heart of an evolution.. I would have more respect if it were in a car of its own.. not our EVO..

AMEN to that REDLINE
yeah yeah yeah,, and i keep saiying,,,,20 yrs of a heritage 4g63,,, this engine is the flag ship of japan,,,, soome people dont understand that
I think it looks good but it doesnt have that raw look of the previous EVOs. An EVO is one of my dream cars but sometime down the road when I am able to buy one it wont be the X. If I was to buy an X it wouldnt be for the same reason that made the EVO one of my dream cars. Just my 2 cents.
The 4G63 was a great engine and always will be but hey sometimes you have to move on and it maybe not as hardcore but you are judgin a car that has yet to hit time attacks or aftermarket at all and once it does and if it proves it can take mods and take you faster then you have ever been in a corner. the mind set might change
For any reason it doesnt do all that good well then those who have the last generation can say that is truly the last Evo but wait and see.
P.S.
the true Champion Evo is the 4-6 Evos. Sorry to bust the Evo 8-9's bubble.

I personally would like myself a TME V/ and am sure I would own that if it were sold in the US and not have that IX avatar in place.
The side view doesn't look bad. I think it's the best pic of the three exterior shots. However, look at the perspective. It looks as if an ant took the picture.
In general, I think this "Ex-Evo" is not that photogenic. It's ironic that the new, "more attractive" car is supposed to be a looker. In a way, it's carrying on the "ugly" tradition, all in an awkward, different kind of way. Fitting, yes, but sad, too. Perhaps Mitsubishi tried too hard at something they don't have much if any experience in - style.
Also, I'm skeptical of any car that does absolutely all the work for you, i.e., cornering. How fun and rewarding will it be if all you gotta do is to merely turn the wheel and hold it, with no adjustment at all. I'm gonna hold final judgment until I experience it myself. Who knows, it might be fun.
I wish I was blown away by this new car. I'm not.

The Evo is dead. Long live the Evo!
If i were to sit here and discuss about engine, AWD system and all that am sure I would get overpowered by the latest technological articles from
posted by the X supporters and would loose.. Yes the car itself may seem promising, with all its technology but when the 2 or 3 or 4 and so on came out. The technological advances made were relevant to its previous versions.. they all held heritage and proved to be what they were meant to be.. an evolution.
Man the X could of had a revised head, lighter stronger crank, mess with a different stoke, add exhaust mivec, revised 6spd tranny for MR's lighter side panels.. you know what has happened in the last 15 years of evo.
Instead they brought out this whole new car which is going to make any idiot look like a super-star around the tracks, think his all that cuz the car says evolution and not know a god damn thing about it..
I'll wait a year or two then ill buy one. the engine is not proven yet and it's not a mitsubishi built motor from japan, its korean built from hyundai. I thought the evo ment more to mitsu than that! did they design the chassis or was that outsourced to?
whatever dude
we are the customers and big corps like mitsu, will listen to their customers if they wana keep themselfs in business...... dont
dont you know about target marketing,,, they target in this case people like you and me and we are the one who dictates what product they should make and how it takes mitsu months of research
,,,thats all the marketing dept does is get feed back from the consumer to see what the consumer wants,, by research and consensus

What the!? Dude, get you facts straight. Mitsubishi designed the basic 4B11 engine architecture (as well as the C segment chassis the Evo/Lancer/Outlander are based on) that was sold to both DaimlerChrysler and Hyundai, who intern added their own internals (read: cast pistons, crank, instead for the forged variety used in the Evo/Lancer).
Sheesh, some peoples kids!

Is that legit? soo, 9 hp over the IX and 10 lb tq over the IX... Add about 250/300 lbs to the car. I would imagine in reality that thing "cant" be quicker than a IX out of the box...
Previously they were stating like 320 hp and something like that TQ. that would be okay, but wow im unimpressed.
Also, i wish they stuck more to the concept. They said 18" wheels would be standard on production. I dont have good enough eyes to read the tire size but those sure look like 17" wheels to me
Over all i am happy they changed stuff up a little, but i am afraid it wont be the best evo to date!
