Steering response = too many factors

ok so both preliminary reviews say that the evo x is less sharp than the IX. but what i wanna know is did they actually change the steering ratio or is it a function of the extra weight, suspension, tires, S-AWC, etc affecting the steering response. of course steering response is purely subjective as there is no way to measure this. an example is that the S-AWC deletes the need to "saw" the steering wheel back and forth in a turn. the electronics sort it all out for you. is this construed as slower steering response?

did the japanese brochure show the steering ratio? caster angle? was there a change in the power steering? imo too early to tell.

lastly to what degree has the steering been slowed? ok so let's just say after all the info has been revealed and they did actually slow the steering ratio, etc. just how much has the steering been slowed in the real world? are these journalists nitpicking or did they actually ruin the steering feel?

is the M3 any less of a fantastic car even though it's clearly less hardcore than the original M??? personal decision...

From the C&D review, it seems almost sure that the steering ratio of the X is the same as in the great toyota camry.

just put it this way the X makes any 17 yrl old with a permit look like a superstar around the track.. It all has to do with its technological advances and yes, I say weight, dimensions play a part in it.

This has been happening almost every time a new evo comes out so its no surprise..

Why did they do away with the sharp steering?
To attract lady drivers, I would guess, or at least
to have the boss in the house consent with the decision
of buying a car which pretends to be Evo.

No need to get testy there. No need to be in denial. Just face the REALITY.
What do you think?
Is X steering ratio closer to that on the IX
or to that on your beloved Camry?

What happens when a professional race car driver drives this car? Will he look like he has god like skills? All this technology raises the limit for EVERYBODY. What's wrong with that? It will make a fool look cool and at the same time make a pro look super human.

my post is basically saying did they actually, mechanically, slow the steering? or does the extra weight and other thousand factors make it seem that way?

one glaring new addiction to the X is S-AWC. does that system work so well you needn't make steering corrections, countersteer, etc??? who can say at this point in time???

until we get numbers and hard facts we're basing things on 2 reviews ie OPINIONS!!!

my gut feeling is yes they did slow the steering but until we get the facts this is getting blown way out of proportion. toyota camry? crazy stuff people are saying to denigrate the X...

How the hell should I know the answer to that question? I know you don't because you're just making things up. Did anywhere in the article say that the steering feel is comparable to a Camry?

Maybe not camry, that's too harsh. How about we say it's getting closer, to Corolla,
in steering ratio.

ok let's clear this up once and for all. unless specifically stated all cars are designed for men. industry surveys show men have more say in what car the family buys. cold hard facts.

the next person who says the evo x was design for women is gonna get an @ss kicking!!!

Consider, the SST automatic mode with slower steering ratio, fatter, slower, heavier, and less lively, it's not aimed at the same sort of men as the true Evo of previous gen. It's designed to attract a broad spectrum of men, including not so manly man,
including some woMEN.
