So honestly you may be right, maybe the new STI does run circles around the new EVO, but don't go off of solely a spec sheet to determine that outcome. We will just have to wait and see, and if the EVO X is truly as good as they say, then it should more than handle it's own.
Honestly...I have not seen any dyno sheets on any of those cars...so I can't say...I am going by what the manufacturer has realeased...I don't know who under-rated and who over-rated...the point is that 04/05 STi from factory on paper was 300HP and 300TQ...I was gonna pick one up since IMO that is the best looking year for the STi's as well as performance...not sure aobut the 04/05 eVo...from what I gather on paper they were 271 HP and 2xx something TQ...so as you see on paper its about 25+ HP yeilding towards the STi...sure drivers matter...etc etc...given equal drivers and it would definatly be close between the two cars...in a straight line...I would like to see stock dyno sheets of an eVo vs stock STi for those years...that would be interesting...the X seems to be havier...it might make more HP...but can it compensate for the extra weight? time will tell...

I say this the kindest way i can, u are RETARDED for even talkin about the sti after lookin at that pic. The sti looks hideous, it may be a little faster(doubt it) but one of the major reasons why people like us, at least me drop $33k on a car is the way it looks. The current evos, and the new ones will look better, handle better and overall preform better than the sti. The choice is up to u, in my opinion its evo all the way, and thats coming from a previous sti owner.

One of the magazines I was reading today (Think it was R&T took a test drive in the new Evo X and they clocked a 5.0 0-60 and a 13.8 @ 102 in the 1/4. Sounds a little depressing. One thing they noted was that launching the X has been tammed quite a bit to save the drivetrain.

Let's just say I'm not going to be selling my 8 anytime soon.

And you can have that craptastic BMW quality. Go look as some boards to see about the trunk floors that rip out of them, the tons of electrical and part failures, etc.

I will never own another BMW after I get rid of this one.

I think that was Car & Driver...and they said that the X was slower at the strip but faster on a road course because of the suspension/drivetrain/frame enhancements.

I don't care what they say...I love my IX and I'm not gettting rid of it any time soon for a X or anything else!!!

Between the New STi and Evo, I'd take the Sti in a heartbeat. In terms of looks, Sti looks way more aggressive; its fenders looks like it was taken right off the WRC prototype. Power from the Sti will probably be quite impressive based on the power figures of the new wrx. It makes about 242 lbs ft torque to the wheels(read charts somewhere, can't find) and Subaru overstates their power figures? Even if this subie looks like other cars (Yaris/mazda3), which i don't think so at all.....its still a subie. Also, I'm glad certain people don't take hatches seriously cause when I fly by them in the my new Sti, it'll make you feel like ****, haha. STi FTW!!!
