2009 Sti Vs 2008 Gsr
I'm guessing you guys dont watch much WRC. The hatchbacks are dominating out there. Subaru is still very much in the WRC game and they are getting smoked by the Citroen and Fords (both of which are hatchbacks). Basically, if you dont like hatches, then you dont like rally because all of the Rally cars are going to be hatchbacks. Mitsubishi already said they are out of WRC and I dont see them returning with their new pig Evo. The Evo just got sold out the way the Eclipse did, hey maybe they will find some other venue to race it in but it's doubtful. They are just trying to market it to a wider market that likes the "Evo" name but wants a more comfortable, bigger car.
When the new STI wins WRC, everyone will come flocking to it. I think it's a nice looking car and if it performs, that's all I care about.

I will save my conclusions untill I actually drive one. And maybe I will even consider waiting a little bit longer before getting the Evo X, because it seems like everytime they release something new, theres always an update of that product few months later after release. My point = The 2nd patch of Evo X s will be better (as in more equiped and upgraded) then the 1st patch. Its always like that from my perspective.
What about get the hell out and go to a Subaru forum?
expensive.. LOL, My gf drives our STI daily, I maybe drive it once a week. It's a family rivalry. I've written quite a few reviews of both, obviously I drive the Evo daily so that should tell you which I prefer. However I think the new STI will be a cool car, Not sure about the X, I'll drive one for sure but it's getting away from what I like about the Evo.

Either way, the looks of the STi doesn't do it for me, I am sure it will be one hell of a performer, but I will still go with the X.
Forum arguments are stupid and I apologize for prolonging it even further, but go ahead and ban me for voicing my opinion.
From what I understand, the thread asks whether Evo X or 09 STi and why. I believe all I did was choose one and made my reasons clear.

Funny how when it comes to
EVO X VS STI
People start saying EVO X
But when its EVO X vs EVO IX
the X sucks *** and is an audi, and a lexus, and all sorts of other crap, and the engine is gay, the interior sucks, dual exhaust for the lose, looks fat as hell, weighs more, too many computer mechanics taking the spirit of driving away, its a luxury car, its an automagic. Its an Aluminum block, its no longer a rally car, it looks too futuristic, the rear end looks like crap, it looks like a TL from the side.... you get my point.... You guys bash the X when its vs the 9 but when its vs the STI its a whole new ball park lol

Actually the last worthy WRC Lancer Evo was the VI. Evo VI was pretty much the peak point of Evos. We didn't get this car in USA but it was the last rally bred machine. Just look at Mitsu in WRC after they got rid of VI chassis, their results went down the crapper. Even Subaru these days can't compete with Ford or Citroen, they haven't won a manufacturers or drivers title for a while now. If Mitsubishi will enter the rally game again I don't think it will be with Lancer Evo, they will probably use Mitsubishi Colt as basis or introduce a whole new car.
