ok 3 pedal fans are you gonna call the GT-R crap also? accept the future, DSG is here to stay. it's the beginning of the end for the clutch pedal...

" - The engine designation is VR38DETT (Twin Turbocharged 3.8-liter V6)
- The engine performance of the 3 trims is the same
- There is no Manual transmission option"

Wow, not even an option in any of the trims.

never driven a car with that kind of clutch, does it suck that bad? How do you build it for more horsepower? Just curious while the subject is so relevent lately.

It doesnt 'suck'...It shifts faster than anyone in the world. The only serious concerns about the DSG gearbox is that no one knows how much power it can handle...

if any of you have driven a car with VW / Audi's DSG, you will know what the SST will be like...

it's not that crap standard auto tranny... it's shifts are lightning quick, and the computer is able to rev match during downshifts to allow for maximum power right away...

Paddle shifting is definately here to stay, but it doesn't mean that it is more fun. I would put it in between a auto and a stick. We all know autos are faster at the track still not as fun you will be hard pressed to pull a manual out of a true enthusiast hand.

Has there been aftermarket (performance) support for the VW / Audi's DSG since its debut? Just wondering. I dont feel like searching the VW forums.

I think i read somewhere that there are aftermarket parts to make the DSG hold more power.

Interesting, I wonder if its a headache, and if anyone is going to tackle that project. So much to learn still.

i'm not too familiar with the DSG upgrades...

i chipped my GLI, and the tranny handles the power just fine... of course i would imagine Mitsu has beefed up their version, considering it's getting 300+lbft of torque from the factory...

Doesn't this belong in the 'other cars' section?

NOT AT ALL... In fact it is easier to drive more forgiving and SO MUCH QUICKER ON SHIFTS... I drove a 2005 TT DSG and it was THE fastest shifting machine i have ever driven... In fact theoretically it can shift quicker than you can pull the trigger

Most of the DSG are in the gear above and below as well as the gear you are in at all times. There is no time to transfer from gear to gear...

Soo there is still human error involved... Automatics are still the fastest.

I like DSG

Put it this way, with the DSG's theres no leaning forwad when you shift. You pull the paddle and you just feel the reves go down to the next gear. Its quick. Its a far cry from tiptronic trannys
