Would U be an Idi*t to buy a X?
yep that is my rule of thumb,,, wait for other people to try out new product,,, specially when they are brand new designs,,,, ussually engineering wont pay for all the R&D at the design process it cheaper for manufacturers to let the consumer dig out all the bugs and then they will re-design the up coming following years ,,,,,, do you follow me ......
and by the way i wouldt spen my money into the evo x,, its just not my like,,,, no
4g63,,,, not the real evo,,, although it my be a semi good car

Well then everyone follows your advice and NOT buys it,
Then there'll be no bugs to fix since... well... nobody will buy it & why sell it if nobody buys it?
And steering? Eh, if I could take turns quickly with Spiderman grip to the road I really don't see that as the worst negative in the world if you just lose some feedback in tradeoff.

UMMM do not forget about the 08 lancer??? Im sure many of the components are shared...
To the original poster: i guess you have valid points with the engine + trans though.... (i still cant wait)

No Evo X for me...
There will always be people who want to be the first one on the block with something new. Others will wait to see how things turn out. That's fine...
My problem with the new Evo is that has lost it's edge. Has anyone read the latest Car and Driver review of the Evo GSR? It's slower, heavier, and has lost the engine that has made it so reliably tunable.
I wondered whether I should get the X or hold on to my VIII, now there's no longer any question.
It's about time to call Buschur and get that Warratalon pkg mailed out. I'll be holding on to my Evo VIII indefinitely.

also, there are a few who would say the TME VI is the last true evo. who knows, the XII might be the best one yet?
So that ppl can keep their car stocks j/k i think to compensate the increased weight due to rigid chassy of new lancer
I don't understand why people think Mitsu messed up with the 03' EVO. In a lot of ways, it has things on it that 9 owners would love to have (longer gearing, water sprayer, and flexibility to make big power for example). Yes, it doesn't have LSD, 10.5 hotside, Mivec and it had the P03 code problem, but other than that - it was a perfect implementation of the EVO.
And all of those deficiencies can be corrected so I still think 03-07 EVOs are all the same basically.
EVO X will indeed be a different architecture that you can't just place a part on the car to equate it.

i think the only reason is to meet the 2008 Federal emissions. Notice how long they kept the iron block for and no '07 MY evo 9. Basically they were forced to drop it if they want to keep selling evo's in the US
