How many EVO IX, X is made, Target
depends on what you mean by "a few thousand" a year. mitsu already plans to sell 4000 by fiscal year 2007. obviously it's not a volume seller like the accord/camry but my point is that the dealers will be pushed to sell more EVOs than before so this may lower prices in the long run as mitsu is ramping up evo production and marketing in a different direction to CREATE A NEW evo market. not the tuners of yore, but the "young nouveau riche who wants a well equipped sportscar" market. the acura tsx is a good example of such a car in that market. dealers will have incentive to sell more and more instead of raping the stupid few who are willing to over pay. dealers will only jack up the price when demand is greater than supply. when mitsu as a corp is spitting out evos like mad, there won't be such a shortage of evos to sell. this will undoubtedly lower prices or at least curtail dealer markup to a certain extent.

the only way the IX's will retain their value is if for some crazy reason people start buying up the used models and then demand will be greater than supply and prices will go up or stay level.
Thats Whats Happening Now, How Many Used Evo's You See On Mitsu's Lot? 1 Or 2 Maybe. They Did A Good Thing For The Ix There Is No 07 Ix And Demand Is Pretty High Thus Making Resale Value Higher.
yep. now isn't a good time to buy a used IX. but once the X comes out, the IX prices will fall. most likely people will sell their IX for a X or people who lease will get the newer X rather than buy out the IX.

Evo production volume will never exceed more than a few thousand per year. To put things in perspective Acura TL's sell 100,000 units per year.
