Td05h-152g6-12t?

So edmunds states the new evo x turbo is a TD05H-152G6-12T. Does this mean the turbo is a 15G?

the iX had a 20G turbo...I don't see how the X can have a lesser 15G turbo...but who knows...

Well every review I have read says the Evo X has much better throttle response. Maybe this is how mitsubishi achieved this feat.

In case you don't see what I'm talking about. Look at the caption under the picture of the engine bay.

That's what I was under the assumption of, it even says 16G in the pamphlet for the Evo IX. For some reason every one I know thinks it's a 20g though.

Where did you read, or what made you think that the IX had a 20G.

Maybe it does have have 15G, that's why the caption said that, "is maxed out"

Maybe Mitsu is doing what Subaru did in the past. Shove in a smaller turbo for better response.

From a manufacture's point of view, it's not a bad idea. Cheaper, and the car performs better in street use. I mean, why do they have to care how much HP the car can produce with the stock turbo. No one ever comes back to Mitsubishi for upgrade parts. So just let the aftermarket worry about turbo upgrades.

It's sad how Mitsubishi sold out the Evo X. They should have at least made the engine a closed deck aluminum block, like the EJ207 (japanese sti engine that can rev. to 9,000rpm). Open deck blocks scare me, you cant make **** for power with them with out some expensive internal upgrades.

20G are upgraded turbo's provided from turbokits.com, turbochargers.com, lancershop.com, buschur and AMS.

What they did was use the stock turbo housing and changed the internals to a 20G spec turbo.

Stock Evo turbo only comes in 16G. Some JDM had magnesium wheels or Titanium aluminide wheels, but they're still a 16G. The major changes were MIVEC and the Turbo, but the turbo just received a larger housing. If you take a look at your turbo, it'll say TD-05HR-16G something something.

Well the new 4B11T engine is Semi-Open deck so it'll be stronger then the honda engines. Plus I think they really re-enforced the engine. The reason why I said so is because. Why does an aluminum block only save you 27 lbs. They must have over re-enforced, or they just don't know what they're doing.

I'm pretty sure that it's an aluminum semi-open deck version of the 4G63.

Forums are full of tards that like to hear them selves talk... er, type... what ever.

The Japanese Evo IX has a 20G, but they opted out for a smaller unit when they brought them to the states.

Some JDM Evo IX like the MR RS has Magnesium blades, they don't have 20G.

Modified 16Gs are doodoo, The only way to make power with a 20G is to use a 3" compressor inlet instead of the 2.25" and use a true TD06/TD06h turbine wheel. Otherwise you'll be just as disappointed as my friend was.
