Funny, if you look on the same site all the Mitsu's are 4 star or higher for review.

And every review I have read was fair and positive from both consumers and the "so-called' experts.

To be honest I think the Evolution would be the only Mitsu I'd own.

They just leave out Nissan?

My 05 EVO never once had any service problem in the first 4 years.
When I started the mods items started failing.

List is bull**** from my experience.

Somebody has to be on the bottom. I disagree with that article though!

This list really doesn't say the truth, as this is a list for consumers brand perception in each of the categories and we all know how brain dead a lot of consumers can be.

that is yahoo perception which is unofficial. jdpowers, consumer reports have rated the mitsubishi above average. yahoo is more of bandwagon rating. when hyundai had bad reports they rated them low to last, now that hyundai is having a good year, they are rating them high.

People don't even understand the Evo. How can they somehow rate quality accurately? They aren't at the level of understanding to even figure out what the car is meant for, let alone what it *could* be and *should* be. People are supposed to rate based on the state of the industry, not how flashy the brand looks.

Great example, I've only owned Fords and for the FIRST time ever bought a non Ford car.

1995 Escort
1998 Mustang GT
1997 Mustang Cobra
2006 Evo IX.

I bought my Evo after waiting 2 years for Ford to release info on the new Focus/Fiesta. As soon as I seen yet another FWD based lineup I immediately started Evo shopping. No amount of RevoKnuckle is going to fix the fact that adding any power makes the car torque steer. I thought the Focus RS taught Ford a thing or two about dropping AWD and still bragging that car doesn't need it.

Now I have people here spouting how amazing the 250hp Ecoboost 2.0L I4 is in the new Focus ST. I try explaining that my car without direct injection simply stomps that weak 250hp output and that's from 2006. They only care that it has good mileage and some go. They *completely* missed the point of the Evo and could care less because Mitsu makes it. They will happily go buy this 250hp Focus ST for over 20 grand and act like they have something special and constantly brag about the acceleration in conference rooms. It's a 14 second car at best, with little potential due to FWD and they are gobbling it up. Yet these people shun the Evo and use nonsense like "it lacks direct injection". I hate the general public sometimes. Always ruining things with their "opinions".

I don't understand why people take these "lists" so seriously. They always seem to reflect the same stereotypes such as with Ford. Ford isn't really doing that much better right now but it's the new Patriotic thing to do. Ra Ra go Ford!!!! So of course Ford is on top for JDPower. We need to move past these artificial benchmarks and talk to gear heads. They know what's up with a car lineup.

You sum it up nicely, and this is why the FORD RS is not coming because too many gobble up the ST. Business is business and perception is reality. If people think a car is better they will be less inclined to complain. If they think it is crappy, they tend to complain about every little thing more. Hence, Mitsu drivers complain alot because they think the paint sucks, the warranty sucks, they rattle or whatever. I never realized how bad some of these cars were until I got on the forums. Then when I go out to my car and it has the issues I read about, I think to myself, self, why did you buy this junky car, when before reading about it, I thought it was kick ***.

I really liked Mustangs and was a big Ford supporter until just a few months ago when I got the Evo. My Cobra was even in one of the small Ford car shows at the Itek building. I think now however that I was just plain and simply wrong.

Why compromise with a mustang that can't go in the snow, is dangerous in the rain, has bad fuel economy, twice the amount of parts inside the motor + 32 valves, bad handling, etc. After driving the Evo I instantly felt like an idiot for compromising when this little car that can do everything the Mustang can and more. While being better at handling, mileage, bolt on potential, rain/snow, etc. That was just the nail in the coffin since I thought I was sacrificing for a reason. The Evo taught me to just have my cake and eat it too.

I used to think V8's were the only way to have potential for more than 500hp. Boy was I wrong. I just was unlucky enough to grow up in an area where all the 4cyl and 6cyl cars were just dog slow. My 12.6 in the 1/4th Cobra was able to spank about 95% of what I raced. After moving to MI I see all these much faster cars and it was a wake up call that my V8 wasn't the only top dog anymore.

(I grew up in a small rural city in IL, so its easy to see now why the cars were so slow)

For me personally....besides the EVO, all other models fail. I would only get one if I couldn't afford something better, theres just no other Mitsu vehicle, I would like to have over a competitors product.
