So a Service Manager tells me the other day...
^^^ Ya'll are some funny people. I don't know of any service managers that make commissions on vehicle sales. In fact, my best friend from high school is a service manager for a Honda dealership, and he could give a rats @ss about what the salesmen sell. All he really cares about is exceeding his service targets/goals so he can get a big bonus.
i would never believe what a service manager/manager/sales person @ the dealersh!t tells me..
in fact, "retailer" does not know all the inside info of a manufacturer
HOWEVER, I'm expecting the 2012 Evo to have the FQ400 face lift with the exact same old specs... that's based on the trend of Mitsubishi and their past Evo.

You must have not read the thread title and have never worked at a dealership. Service does not care about sales. They will actually get upset with a salesman for selling a car to a customer that is debating on a huge service bill.
Sorry to be the burden of bad news but it seems that the Evo nameplate is axed..here is a link from Autocar that i read yesterday.

That he was told by someone at Mitsu corporate(insider info) that the next Evo(XI) will have "FQ performance". I said..."FQ300 or FQ400?". And then he replied with "FQ400!", with this big **** eating grin on his face. He wouldn't go into details of when, how, etc., but said that Mitsu is finally going to raise the bar with the XI. I'm personally taking it with a grain of salt, but he declared it to me without any provocation, and the dude was genuinely excited to tell a current Evo owner about it. I'm sure we'll find out how the next model pans out soon enough, but I just thought I'd share.

After a few hours of negative nancy replies, how about ya'll take it with a grain of salt like I did. Or, if you absolutely must declare it as being false, then how about you show some proof as to why it's not even possibly true. Just sayin. Haha

not to burst anyone's bubble... but i've NEVER met anyone working at a dealership (manager, GM, salesrep, parts guy, etc) to have ANY inside knowledge on upcoming models. Not to mention... everytime i've ever walked into a dealer, "I" would know more about the current car i was about to buy then they would, lol. No joke...
That being said... i have 4 friends that work at dealerships in sales and all of them are just clueless sales tools. Some barely know where the dipstick is on a car, lol
